The Minister of Education holds a meeting with directors and deputy directors

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting with directors and deputy directors of directorates and directors and deputy directors of education administrations across all governorates. The meeting was held to monitor the progress of the educational process nationwide, review executive procedures and final preparations related to the 2024/2025 academic year exams, and emphasize the implementation of the instructions and procedures regulating the examination process.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif emphasized the importance of these periodic meetings in strengthening communication between the Ministry and the education directorates, as well as the reality on the ground. The Minister added that chronic problems that have accumulated over more than 30 years have been addressed, such as a shortage of teachers and high student density in classrooms. Your efforts, along with those of the teachers, have succeeded in mitigating these challenges and achieving important steps on the path to reform.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif emphasized that ensuring the quality of education in the classroom is the primary goal, emphasizing that the Ministry seeks to provide an education worthy of its children. Students.
In this context, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif announced the Ministry's intention to establish a central quality department or unit in each education directorate. This unit will be composed of retired educational cadres from directorate, administration, and school directors, given their extensive and influential experience in the field of education.
The Minister explained that each education directorate will form this unit, depending on its size, to include approximately 10 specialists. Their mission will be to evaluate educational performance within schools according to clear criteria, through comprehensive field visits. The situation of each school will be analyzed, strengths and needs identified, and the results sent to the Ministry. The Ministry will prepare a targeted action plan based on this assessment, in addition to providing the education directorates with detailed reports on the needs of each school to ensure quality improvement based on scientific and practical foundations.
Regarding preparations for the end-of-year exams, the Minister of Education emphasized the importance of making every effort to ensure the exams proceed in an orderly and fair manner. He emphasized the need for full adherence to all strict procedures and measures to ensure the integrity of the examination process, emphasizing the prohibition of the presence or use of any means or methods that might facilitate cheating. To ensure the success of the exams and achieve the principles of fairness and transparency in student assessment.
He explained that strict security measures will be implemented to ensure the successful and orderly conduct of the secondary school exams, harnessing all available resources to ensure that the exams proceed in a manner befitting the status of the educational process and upholding the principles of fairness and integrity, free from any violations or attempts at cheating.
Regarding the preparatory certificate exams, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif indicated that the end-of-year exams for the preparatory certificate will be conducted in a large number of governorates using the "booklet" system, given its great importance. He explained that adopting the "booklet" system aims to reduce the chances of cheating, achieve fairness among students, and ensure the quality and accuracy of the marking process.
The Minister directed the rapid preparation and printing of exams using the "booklet" system in the governorates that will implement this system, stressing the Ministry's commitment to providing all forms of technical support to the educational directorates to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the exams and to promote the principles of integrity and transparency in the examination process.
Regarding educational curricula, the Minister explained that the content of the Arabic language, religious education, and social studies curricula is being developed based on field feedback and in accordance with the general curriculum framework.
The Minister indicated that the Ministry aims to address the weaknesses in reading and writing skills among some students, adding that reading and writing skill development programs will be implemented during the summer to improve students' skills. He emphasized the need for the exam marking process to be transparent and fair, with the aim of determining students' true level, identifying their areas of weakness, and working to address these weaknesses during the summer vacation. This will enable students to properly and constructively absorb the curriculum.
In the same context, the Minister emphasized the need to address students' health issues, as health conditions directly impact their ability to understand and achieve academically. He highlighted the results of the implementation of the primary initiative to screen and treat vision problems among primary school students, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. The initiative provided treatment and eyeglasses to enhance their visual abilities and improve their academic performance. He also directed the need to educate parents about the importance of caring for their children's health and encourage early detection of any health problems that may affect academic achievement. This is aimed at building a healthy school environment that supports teaching and learning effectively and sustainably.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif praised the successful experience of the Fayoum Governorate Education Directorate in providing hot school meals in schools. This experience, he said, contributes to students' healthy development in designated and prepared areas. He noted that the initiative will be expanded and expanded to schools in other governorates, directing directors to follow up on the implementation of this nutritional system in schools where this service is available, starting next year.
