The activities of the African Football League for Schools and the qualification for the North African Championship concluded yesterday, Thursday evening, which was held under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, President of the Egyptian Federation for School Sports, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports.
Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, congratulated the winning schools, noting that it is a constructive step in taking care of school sports, especially that the event is being held in its first edition and all means of support will be provided to our students to encourage and motivate them to win the North African Championship, which will be held for the first time in Egypt in late September Next.
Dr. Iman Mohamed Hassan, head of the central administration for student activities, explained that the championship journey is not over yet and that it is the beginning, and it is necessary to focus on the next stage, and in implementation of the directives of Dr. With the Egyptian Football Association to train the teams four days a week through a coach in the Football Association, and all capabilities will be provided to win the North African Championship.
The girls' final was held between Magda Al-Serafy School (Al-Buhaira Governorate) and Sawada Preparatory School (Al-Sharqiya Governorate), and Magda Al-Serafi Preparatory School won.
The boys' final was held between Al Nubariya Preparatory School (Al Buhaira Governorate) and Sawada Preparatory School for Girls (Al Sharqiya Governorate), Sawada Preparatory School for Boys (Al Sharqiya Governorate) won, and the Fair Play Cup won the Al Sharqiya Governorate.
Dr. Gamal Allam, President of the Egyptian Football Association, honored the teams and handed out medals and cups, in the presence of Dr. Sayed Hazin, director of the Youth and Sports Directorate in Cairo, Dr. Zahra Selim, the activity official in the Egyptian Federation for School Sports, Ms. Dina Al-Rifai, member of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Walid Al-Attar, Executive Director of the Federation, And Dr. Ahmed Hassan, Director General of Sports Development at the Ministry of Youth and Sports and a member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Federation for School Sports.
The two students, Esraa Al-Hish Abdul Rahman, and Maryam Muhammad Hassan (Al Sharqiya Governorate) were selected for their outstanding level and talent.
It is worth noting that the championship activities were organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with the Egyptian School Sports Federation and the Egyptian Football Association on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the Gezira Youth Center.
