The Ministry of Education honors the winning students in the "Glimpses of India"
Under the patronage of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education honored the winning students in the "Glimpses of India" competition for this year 2024/2025 in cooperation with the Embassy of India in Egypt through the Indian Cultural Center, under the supervision of Dr. Akram Hassan, Assistant Minister for Curriculum Development Affairs, and Dr. Rabab Abdel Mohsen Imam, Director General of Art Education Development, and in the presence of C. Sushma, Chargé d'Affairs of the Indian Embassy in Cairo, and Maulana Azad, the Cultural Wing of India in Cairo.
This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education's interest in using effective educational methods and activating educational, sports, cultural and artistic activities for students, and motivating students to participate in all activities and competitions in schools, and the importance of the role of artistic competitions in discovering new talents among our students, in addition to re-instilling the artistic spirit and developing it in schools in general, in addition to getting to know the cultures of different peoples through their heritage and artistic paintings.
The "Glimpses of India" competition comes within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Embassy of India through the Indian Cultural Center at the Embassy of India, and is held annually, as this competition has been organized for 28 years in Egypt to celebrate the close relations between Egypt and India, and strengthen the bonds of friendship and Egyptian culture, as more than 22,000 male and female students from different educational levels participate in this competition this year.
Dr. Akram Hassan, Assistant Minister for Curriculum Development, expressed his happiness with this competition and what he saw of the artistic works presented by the students, and the creative values that were evident in those works, expressing his pride in what the students accomplished in expressing their thoughts and feelings through their artistic works.
The Assistant Minister for Curriculum Development also stressed the importance of Egyptian-Indian relations, pointing out the role of art as an effective means of expressing cultures and transferring civilizations between countries. In addition, the arts contribute to building bridges of understanding and participation between peoples, which strengthens cultural ties between countries.
Dr. Akram Hassan extended his thanks and appreciation to the Indian Embassy for supporting this competition, and to all the participating students for their efforts and ability to express themselves skillfully through their art.
For her part, Ms. C. Sushma, Chargé d'Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Cairo, expressed in her speech her great happiness with the "Glimpses of India" competition, and thanked the Ministry of Education, as well as the students and teachers, praising their efforts and creativity in expressing Indian culture through drawing and art.
Sushma also stressed the importance of cultural ties between India and Egypt, noting that this competition enhances mutual understanding and consolidates historical friendships between the two peoples. Such initiatives contribute to promoting cultural and artistic values, and open new horizons for cooperation and interaction between the youth of the two countries. It is worth noting that the competition witnessed the participation of school students in the (primary, preparatory and secondary) stages from various government and private schools and national institutes in the governorates of (Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Qalyubia, Gharbia, Sharqia, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Fayoum, Port Said, Menoufia, Ismailia, Aswan, Luxor, Red Sea and Minya).
