Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Major General Staff Sherif Fahmy Bishara, Governor of Ismailia, held a meeting with education leaders and directors of educational departments at the governorate’s office. To review the procedures related to the discipline and regularity of the new school year, and to discuss the new tasks and instructions regulating the educational process.

This came in the presence of Engineer Ahmed Essam El-Din, Deputy Governor, Mohamed Anis, General Secretary, Maher Kamel, Assistant General Secretary, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Ahmed Behairy, Director of the Directorate of Education, Dr. Sami Fadl, Undersecretary of the Directorate, and the leaders of the Directorate of Education in the governorate.

Dr. Reda Hegazy said that he was keen to hold this meeting to discuss a number of topics related to the progress of the educational process, stressing the importance of visiting schools. And follow up on performance on the ground.

The Minister stressed that development of education will not occur except by improving teacher performance, pointing out that there is a mechanism for selecting new teachers by appointing 150,000 teachers at a rate of 30,000 annually over 5 years, so that the best and finest are chosen because teachers are the ones who lead change and development.

Dr. Reda Hegazy also stressed, during the meeting, the necessity of developing the spirit of loyalty and belonging to students, and exercising rights and citizenship in the governorate, noting that a training package will be implemented under the title “The role of the school in activating citizenship among students,” which targets school principals, teachers, social workers, and the head of school. The Board of Trustees of the Educational Administration, and the Secretary of the Student Union of the Educational Administration. It includes awareness of national projects and the achievements of the Egyptian state, the meaning of citizenship, positivity, and the exercise of rights, as well as the trainees implementing an executive plan to implement what was trained on.

The Minister also pointed out the importance of the Ministry’s role in educating students about climate change, water and environmental security, and how to rationalize water consumption, noting that the Ministry aims to prepare students with the ability to compete, research and think critically, especially in light of the cognitive revolution and digital transformation.

Dr. Reda Hegazy confirmed that the first batch of the presidential initiative to select 1,000 school principals from competent and distinguished young teachers were given comprehensive training for a period of 6 months, and those who passed this program were awarded a diploma in educational leadership and national security, which in turn paves the way for work in school administration. Emphasizing the necessity of continuous communication with them and making the most of their abilities and ideas to achieve the desired change in school management.

The Minister also directed the rehabilitation of schools that will witness the appointment of teachers from graduates of the presidential initiative “1,000 school principals,” and the rapid distribution of them to the governorate’s schools. He also stressed the importance of providing all means of support to them, stressing that there will be continuous follow-up to evaluate their performance.

The Minister directed the need for the Directorate of Education and educational departments to inform students in various schools in the governorate about the Ministry’s availability on its website of educational and training materials containing in-depth explanations, questions, tests and links to educational videos, free of charge, so that students can benefit from them in academic achievement, noting that each unit is equipped with tests that The student solves it and can evaluate his performance through it. The Ministry also sought the help of qualified teachers known throughout the Republic to explain the lessons and educational curricula on educational channels and platforms and make these lessons available on YouTube channels, in addition to the periods of viewing in schools of educational materials that were broadcast on television, which worked to Attracting students to school and providing sports, cultural and artistic activities.

The Minister explained that the Ministry aims to develop the secondary school system by launching a national conference that includes a community dialogue that includes all parties related to the educational system.

Regarding technical education, the Minister stressed that the state attaches great importance to developing the technical education system, and seeks to improve vocational training. Improving the professional skills of Egyptian workers in various sectors and preparing qualified technical personnel at the highest level; To keep pace with global developments in order to meet the needs of the local, regional and international labor market, he pointed out that a cooperation protocol was signed to provide new job opportunities for a number of (500) technicians who graduate from technical education schools and applied technology schools, in accordance with international quality standards for work in Finland.

For his part, Major General Staff Sherif Fahmy, Governor of Ismailia, welcomed Dr. Reda Hegazy, praising the efforts made by the Directorate of Education in the governorate and the activity and hard work to provide distinguished educational service to our students in the various stages of education, whether general or technical education.

The governor pointed out that the Salesian Don Bosco Institute and the “WE” School are considered a strengthening of the technical education system in the governorate, which we hope will take its rightful place.
The governor emphasized the role of the Ministry of Education, Technical Education, the school and the family in raising a healthy generation capable of building the future of the state.
