The Minister of Education and Technical Education holds a meeting to discuss the selection of a national team to participate
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting with Dr. Muhammad Yahya Nassif, Head of the Executive Body of the General Authority for Adult Education, and Dr. Hegazy Idris, Consultant and Training Coordinator and Advisor to the Minister of Education and Technical Education for Lifelong Learning, to discuss the selection of a national team to be trained through the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning in order to build the team’s capabilities to develop a long-term strategic plan for lifelong learning.
The minister explained the need to build the capacity of a national team from various parties to prepare an initial draft of a national strategic plan for lifelong learning, including setting priorities and policies across sectors that are conducive to achieving lifelong learning.
Dr. Reda Hegazy also indicated that the selection of the national team includes several criteria, including acceptance of work from a national team after the completion of training; To voluntarily formulate the national strategy, and that the chosen one has a previous work in adult education or a stakeholder in the field of adult education, knowledge of the philosophy of lifelong learning, age not exceeding 56 years, knowledge of the English language for easy communication, and full commitment to follow-up and implementation of the workshop assignments
It is worth noting that the interactive workshop for representatives of UNESCO Member States on strengthening education systems for lifelong learning, which will be organized from (11-22) September 2023 via the Internet.
The workshop includes several topics, including: lifelong learning, the labor market, digitization and education, demographic change, sustainable environment and climate action, and active global citizenship.
The team consists of 12 members from ten different sectors, which are the General Authority for Adult Education, the Ministry of Education (Department for Combating Educational Dropout), Technical Education, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Accreditation and Quality Authority, the Ministry of Local Development, Egyptian Universities, and finally civil society.
