Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated today in the "First International Scientific Conference on Positive Education", on behalf of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, which was organized by Nour Misr Foundation for Charitable Works in cooperation and sponsorship with Tanta University, Kafr El-Sheikh University, Al-Salam University, and "Honest Training and Consulting Company".

This was attended by Dr. Rifat Al-Dabaa, the scientific and honorary president of the conference, Dr. Samah Abu Zahra, the conference president, Dr. Moheb Al-Rafei, the former Minister of Education, Dr. Amr Al-Wardani, representing Dr. Nazir Ahmed Ayyad, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Ahmed Abu Omar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments for Da'wah Affairs, representing the Minister of Endowments, Father Antonios Sobhi, representing His Holiness Pope Tawadros, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hajj, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ahlia University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, a group of heads of diplomatic missions in Egypt and the League of Arab States, university presidents and parliamentary leaders, a number of delegations from countries, representatives of international organizations, and educational and teaching leaders. In his speech, the Minister of Education expressed his happiness to participate in this distinguished conference, on behalf of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly - Prime Minister, and conveyed his sincere greetings and best wishes for the success of this conference in achieving its desired goals, especially instilling positive values ​​in the souls of citizens against the current cultural invasion, supporting the implementation of the sustainable development strategy "Egypt Vision 2030", as well as coming up with realistic and applicable recommendations.

The Minister also stressed that holding this conference is of great importance, and reflects a great belief that investing in building the human being is the real investment, and comes within the framework of the need to enhance community dialogue on education and its methods; which is a golden opportunity to exchange experiences, best practices and develop sustainable strategies to apply the foundations of positive education on a large scale.

The Minister pointed out that positive education is a societal philosophy that aims to raise individuals on human values ​​and develop their capabilities; To become active partners in achieving sustainable development, and represents a call to build balanced relationships between parents, teachers, and children based on respect, understanding, and encouragement, explaining that in our current era, positive education is no longer an option, but rather a necessity; as it is the method that helps shape the child's personality from the early stages of his life, and contributes to building him so that he can interact positively with his community, through the correct guidance of children, and providing them with solid human values, such as respect, cooperation, and integrity.

The Minister also stressed that the Egyptian state realizes the importance of positive education as an integral part of a comprehensive vision for preparing future generations, and the Egyptian state - under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic - has paid great attention to developing the education system, as a fundamental pillar in achieving sustainable development, through an educational system that relies on fortifying our students against destructive ideas, and providing educational content that enhances their understanding of the world around them, and helps them make independent and informed decisions.

The Minister continued, saying: “In this context, I would like to emphasize the Egyptian state’s adoption of strategies aimed at building the Egyptian individual, and supporting all efforts and initiatives aimed at promoting positive education in society, and working to integrate it into education policies and human development plans,” stressing that in this context, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education seeks to promote the values ​​of positive education in all aspects of the educational process by training teachers to adopt educational and teaching strategies based on effective dialogue, understanding students’ psychological and social needs, and prohibiting all types of physical and psychological punishment, in addition to including the values ​​of positive education within the educational curricula; with the aim of instilling the principles of mutual respect and tolerance, bearing responsibility and accepting others, and social and cooperative work in their souls, in addition to enhancing communication with parents, and holding periodic meetings with them; in order to enhance the application of the foundations of positive education. The Minister explained that adopting the concept of positive education reflects awareness of the importance of investing in the human element, as children who grow up in a safe, stimulating and supportive environment are more capable of practicing creativity, acquiring critical thinking skills, solving problems, and then participating effectively in building the future of this country. Positive education also contributes significantly to confronting many problems such as bullying, violence, low self-confidence and weak family communication; which enhances societal stability and contributes to increasing development rates.

The Minister added that studies have proven that the family's interaction with the school and promoting positive education in the family environment are among the basic factors in the child's academic and social success. Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education seeks to empower its teachers with modern education tools that ensure the upbringing of a generation capable of interacting positively in all areas of life.

At the end of his speech, the Minister extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to all those in charge of organizing this conference in this honorable manner. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the experts and educators present, and all participants in this conference, wishing them to come up with a number of results, recommendations, and solutions that meet the needs of society in preparing promising generations, armed with the positive values ​​that qualify them to lead the future of this country.
