Minister of Education discusses with Pearson representatives ways to enhance

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received today, Catherine Booth, Regional Director of Pearson School Qualifications, Middle East and Africa; to discuss ways to benefit from the authority's expertise in student assessment and professional development for teachers.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister expressed his appreciation for the cooperation with Pearson and its great success in examination systems, noting that the Ministry seeks to achieve an educational system that enables students to receive distinguished education, stressing the importance of benefiting from the authority's expertise in providing programs that help students transition from school education to university education.
The Minister pointed out the Ministry's interest in training teachers and enhancing their sustainable professional development, according to the highest international quality standards as an essential part of improving the quality of education, stressing that investing in teacher qualifications is a fundamental pillar for achieving comprehensive development in the educational process, and ensures the creation of a stimulating educational environment that keeps pace with modern educational developments.
For her part, Catherine Booth praised the efforts of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, in developing the educational process in Egypt, stressing the importance of investing in education as a key factor for progress in the country.
Catherine Booth explained that "Pearson", as the largest examination body in the United Kingdom, works to achieve the highest accuracy in grades among all examination bodies in the United Kingdom, and to provide qualifications with the highest quality standards for learners in Egypt, expressing the Authority's readiness to expand the scope of cooperation with Egypt to support the government's initiatives in the field of English language, in line with the educational goals of the Egyptian state.
The meeting discussed enhancing the Ministry's cooperation with "Pearson" and the British Council to provide Pearson exams in Egypt, and support 35 official international schools (IPS), in addition to professional development for teachers, in addition to the international standard track for learners to provide more opportunities to demonstrate their skills and abilities, improve their performance, and secure the overall grades they need.
The meeting was attended from "Pearson" by Ms. Miran Mansour, Senior Director of Regional Development, Egypt, North Africa and Jordan, and Ms. Sahar Khamis, Senior Education Consultant and Expert.
From the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Ms. Sherine Hamdy, the Minister’s Advisor for International Relations and Agreements and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Minister’s Office Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Attia, Head of the Central Administration for Fee-Based Education, Ms. Rasha Al-Geoushy, the Ministry’s Coordinator for International Schools, and Mr. Hesham Jaafar, Director General of Private Education, attended.
