Today, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in the conference "Our children are our future...The health of the Egyptian child is a priority" organized by Aladdin magazine at Al-Ahram Foundation, where the minister participated in a discussion session entitled "Towards a vision for developing children's awareness between education, media and creativity." ".
During the session, Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed that the political leadership puts at the top of its priorities the development of the awareness of the Egyptian child and adopts the strategy of building the Egyptian person within the framework of achieving "Egypt's Vision 2030", noting that the conference is an affirmation of the role of the ancient Al-Ahram Foundation and soft powers in adopting a policy of building The Egyptian human being pursued by the Egyptian state.
Dr. Reda Hegazy reviewed the ministry's role in caring for early childhood, pointing out that this stage represents the golden years of investment in the child. He also stressed that the ministry is working to support the child's ability to learn and innovate because it is a period of development of the stages of intelligence, which requires the availability of an appropriate educational environment for this. stage.
The minister explained that the ministry aims to achieve the pleasure of learning and the practice of activities and focus on knowledge-producing education, noting that the evaluation process in the first three years, starting from the first grade of primary school to the third grade of primary school, does not include failure, and this takes into account the child’s mental health.
Dr. Reda Hegazy added that the school is the real place for teaching and learning, with the aim of achieving the comprehensive growth of the student in terms of skill, emotional and knowledge, pointing to the necessity of not reducing the educational process to passing the cognitive side only, but it must lead to the development of innovation and creativity skills, expansion of perceptions and knowledge of general information. And building a personality that will be effective and productive in the future.
With regard to the curricula system, the minister indicated that there is integration between the academic subjects in which the focus is on major concepts to urge students to think and research, so that they become productive for learning, indicating that the general framework for the preparatory stage curricula is currently being prepared, explaining that the development will be an extension of the primary stage. and qualifying for the secondary stage.
The minister touched on the subject of research projects that were added during the current academic year, starting with the sixth grade of primary school and in the transfer classes, explaining that it is only a failure and passing subject and aims to develop students’ skills and their ability to research and know general information and express it within the framework of specific topics that are dealt with during these projects, which It includes, for example, the major national projects, the challenges facing the Egyptian state, the phenomenon of climate change, and other issues.
Minister Ali stressed that the ministry aims to shift from memorization and indoctrination to innovation and creativity, focusing on realizing major concepts, and exerting efforts to focus on content and expand perceptions to develop the knowledge structure and talents of students in line with future jobs.
In this context, Dr. Reda Hegazy explained that the application of the Day of Sports, Artistic and Cultural Activities in schools aims to reveal, develop and nurture students' talents in cooperation with the Ministries of Youth, Sports and Culture, explaining that the implementation of the Day of Activities has been completed in 50% of schools and the implementation of the first stage will begin. The third stage increased by 25% with the beginning of the second semester. The Ministry also launched the “School Theater Revitalization Initiative” to represent an organized mechanism for discovering different talents among school students in the field of arts and theater, as well as re-creating and developing the artistic spirit in schools.
