Minister of Education Discusses Strengthening Cooperation with Pakistani Education Minister)

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Vocational Training of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, today to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the areas of developing pre-university education, technical and vocational education, and exchanging expertise in teaching Arabic and specialized educational programs.

The meeting was attended on the Pakistani side by Mr. Syed Bilal Ahmed, Chief of Staff to the Minister of State for Federal Education and Vocational Training, and Mr. Asad Afridi, Commercial and Investment Attaché at the Embassy of Pakistan in Cairo.

From the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, the meeting was attended by Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister, Ambassador Yasser Othman, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and Agreements, and Ms. Iman Yassin, Director General of International Relations.

At the outset of the meeting, both sides affirmed the commitment of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to strengthening the strategic partnership in the field of education and building upon the successful experiences in both countries, in order to contribute to developing the education system and improving the quality of educational outcomes.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the Egyptian government's efforts to develop the education system, particularly addressing the problem of overcrowding in classrooms and overcoming the teacher shortage. He also highlighted the expansion of educational technology and digital learning platforms, all of which contribute to improving the quality of education.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif also presented Egypt's experience in developing curricula and aligning them with learning outcomes, simplifying educational content while maintaining the quality of educational results, and introducing programming and artificial intelligence in collaboration with Japanese partners. He noted the implementation of the specialized Japanese "Kiryo" platform, which ensures the development of students' essential skills in this field.

The Minister further emphasized the Ministry's efforts to develop technical and vocational education and training (TVET), its successful international partnerships in this area, and its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the private sector and aligning training programs with the needs of the local and international labor markets.

For her part, the Minister of State for Federal Education and Vocational Training of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan reviewed her country's efforts to reform the education system, particularly working to unify educational standards at the national level, realigning curricula with national priorities and labor market needs, and drawing on the Egyptian experience.

The Pakistani minister also presented her country's experience in developing technical education through innovative initiatives that contribute to enhancing graduate employability.

The two ministers discussed ways to cooperate in technical education in a number of priority sectors, as well as the exchange of students and trainers between the two countries.

The meeting also included discussions on strengthening cooperation in teaching Arabic to Pakistani students and exchanging expertise in teacher training and developing specialized educational programs, which will broaden the horizons for academic cooperation between the two countries.
