Today, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education launched a celebration for the first camp to prepare accepted students who obtained a preparatory certificate to join five international schools of applied technology in partnership with the Workforce Egypt project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and relevant partners from the public business sectors. And the special one under the slogan “Your dream is our dream” in the Education City on 6 October from 24/9/2022, until 10/6/2022 for 500 male and female students, in preparation for receiving the first batch of international school students to start the new academic year 2022-2023 and in continuation of the efforts of The state in developing technical, vocational and technical education and upgrading the quality of programs, institutions and outcomes of the educational process, in accordance with international quality standards and in line with the needs of the local, regional and global labor market.
This came in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education, Dr. Amr Soliman, Director of the International Schools Unit in the Egypt Manpower Project, Dr. Mohamed Fawzy, Deputy Director of the Egypt Manpower Project, Engineer Emad El Sewedy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of El Sewedy Electrometro, and Gamal Dhaifallah, President The Board of Directors of Dhaif Sons Contracting and Trading Company, Ihab El-Sayed, Director of Human Resources at Fathallah Company, Engineer Raed Haseeb representing Misr Insurance Company, Eng. Maged George, Executive Supervisor of Fresh School, Gregory Niblet, Vice President of MTC Holding Company for International Development, and a number of relevant partners from public and private business sectors.
In his speech, Dr. Mohamed Megahed welcomed the attendees, stressing that the efforts made during the past years to develop technical education proved successful in cooperation with international success partners and the private sector. The ministry is working to enhance and increase this cooperation in the future, in order to improve the technical education and vocational training system in Egypt to meet the needs of the labor market and drive economic growth.
The Deputy Minister congratulated the students for making the decision to enroll in the International Schools of Applied Technology, and congratulated their parents for helping their children make this decision.
Dr. Mohamed Megahed valued the role of the five companies in supporting the development of technical education in Egypt, noting that new programs and curricula were developed in cooperation with representatives of the labor market, such as (information and communication technology, artificial intelligence, security systems technology, nuclear energy technology, new and renewable energy, industrial control, marketing and e-commerce); and others to meet the needs of the local and global labor market.
The Deputy Minister stressed that the ministry is concerned with developing technical education; Because Egypt deserves to be in the ranks of the major developed countries in all respects, and for its industry to be a pioneer capable of exporting its products to all countries of the world, and for the standard of living of Egyptians to rise within a few years, and this requires trained labor with skills that enable it to compete globally.
He explained that the international schools of applied technology achieve the objectives of the Egyptian constitution to meet the needs of the labor market and its compliance with international quality standards.
Dr. Muhammad Mujahid added that the applied technology schools started in 2018 with 3 schools, and today there are 42 schools, noting that the competency curricula applied by these schools aim to master technical education students with skills and knowledge.
Dr. Mohamed Mujahid expressed his optimism about the International Schools of Applied Technology, which is a distinct example of an epic that leads to interaction and competition between the participating international bodies, stressing his pride in participating with Workforce Egypt and MTC to provide technical aid and innovation so that these schools are smart, preserve the environment and operate with renewable energy.
Dr. Mohamed Fawzy, Deputy Director of the Egypt Manpower Project, explained that the camp aims to provide awareness sessions for parents, students and teachers, and includes an awareness session for parents entitled “How to support our children”, and sessions for students on occupational safety and health, competency-based education and vocational guidance, Capstone, And the English language, school values, how to prevent bullying and harassment, what the market needs, and activities that will build the student’s work team, stressing the importance of transferring the culture of these schools and achieving equal opportunities for males and females through the slogan “Access to All”, as all the governorates of Egypt are represented in these schools The presence of students from distant provinces.
Dr. Mohamed Fawzy gave a presentation explaining the admission procedures for schools, their infrastructure, classrooms and facilities, and how to select and train professional teachers in them.
Eng. Imad Al-Suwaidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Sewedy Company, pointed out that the climate is suitable for realizing the dream and graduating a promising generation that matches the needs of the labor market, and that the companies’ contribution to these schools is done by transferring experience and ideas, not only with financial efforts, and that the outstanding student is the one who prepares himself for the labor market after graduation.
Gamal Dhaifallah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dhaif Sons Contracting and Trading Company, pointed out that we are learning to build a life and a country, and he thanked the partners for trying to change society and the future and build a new generation that builds the country differently in light of the current challenges, stressing that Egypt is distinguished by its children.
Ehab El-Sayed, Director of Human Resources at Fathallah Company, explained that these schools address the gap between the graduate and the labor market by producing a product suitable for the labor market through the competency approach and the skill and behavioral dimension within the school, because we want leaders and not just workers, and we provide an opportunity for students to complete university education.
Engineer Raed Haseeb, representative of the Misr Insurance Company, thanked the parents for choosing this distinguished education and their presence from distant governorates, and for supporting the students to take this decision and enter them into a new experience, adding that the criterion for success is the students after graduation and their ability to face the labor market to benefit themselves and their community.
Eng. Maged George, Executive Supervisor of Fresh School, pointed out that the greatest service that advances humanity is education, stressing that a lot of efforts have been made in establishing the school, equipping it and translating it into a technological educational institution equipped with all modern equipment to be attractive to students and provide our country with young people at the highest level of education.
Gregory Niblett, Vice President of MTC Holding for International Development, said that we are proud of these schools and the ministry's efforts in developing technical education, noting that these schools are a major initiative in technical education to change the course of the future students' lives.
It is worth mentioning that the five international schools for applied technology are the first of their kind in technical education in five governorates: Fresh International School for Applied Technology for the manufacture and maintenance of molds in the Tenth of Ramadan in Sharkia Governorate, Ahmed Daifallah International School for Applied Technology for Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Assiut Governorate, and Fathallah School The International School of Applied Technology majoring in modern commerce in Alexandria Governorate, the Misr International Insurance School of Applied Technology for Marketing Financial Services in Minya Governorate, and the El Sewedy International School of Applied Software Technology in Sixth of October City, Giza Governorate.
The schools are characterized by a state-of-the-art technical and technological infrastructure and innovation laboratories. They apply digital systems. They are smart schools. They provide transition services to the labor market and give students the opportunity for practical training inside the school during their studies. They also give the student an accredited certificate equivalent to the diploma of technical schools, the three-year system. They are also considered schools. Green, environmentally friendly, solar powered, water recycling and energy saving system, and the graduate can work in companies that have cooperation protocols with the school immediately after graduation and the completion of the 3-year study period.
