"Education" signed a joint cooperation protocol to establish a new school of applied technology in the field of cultivation and production of dates in Giza
Today, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, witnessed a joint cooperation protocol with Lina Company for Tourism and Urban Development. regarding the establishment of Lina School for Applied Technology for Boys, affiliated to the Bahariya Oasis Administration, in Giza Governorate.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, and Muhannad El-Sayed Ismail Khedr, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lina Company for Tourism and Urban Development, in the presence of Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Operation and Management Unit of Applied Technology Schools, and Ashraf Salouma, Director of the Directorate of Education in Giza.
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education, confirmed that the ministry is always seeking to develop the technical education and vocational training system, with the aim of improving the quality of outputs and levels of vocational skills. In order to keep pace with international levels, pointing out that two-thirds of the labor market needs are new professions and specializations, and contribute to increasing employment rates for graduates of technical schools, and increase their role in meeting the required needs. To implement economic and social development plans in Egypt.
The minister pointed out that this protocol corresponds with the main axis of the recent industry conference and expansion in the agricultural field, seeking to increase exports, and preparing trained cadres with technical training in agriculture and manufacturing, pointing out that the ministry seeks to expand the establishment of many schools of applied technology in various disciplines, And that the number of these schools reached 43 schools.
Dr. Mujahid said that the ministry is working to encourage technical and technical education, vocational training and its development, and to expand all its types, in accordance with international quality standards, and in a manner commensurate with the needs of the labor market, noting that this protocol comes within the framework of developing technical education in the field of agriculture and education. Agricultural schools, and applied technology schools, were created as a new model for advanced technical education, in which the private sector participates in its development, based on its societal responsibility towards the homeland, in addition to the benefit that will accrue to them and to the Egyptian industry from qualified technical cadres at a high level.
For his part, Dr. Amr Basila said that this protocol aims to develop practical disciplines in the field of cultivation and production of dates in schools of applied technology. Which helps attract young people to study these modern technological disciplines, and create new job opportunities for technical education graduates that address future professions.
He added that this protocol stipulates that this school specializes in graduating qualified technicians to work in the field of cultivation and production of dates, and the duration of the study is three years, and successful students at the end of the third grade are granted a certificate of completion of studies for the high school diploma of applied technology (the three-year system), approved by The Ministry of Education and Technical Education, in addition to an experience certificate approved by the company.
Muhannad Al-Sayed Ismail Khader, Director of Lina Company for Tourism and Urban Development, indicated that the company is one of the leading companies in the field of date cultivation, which seeks to produce an abundance of dates using modern methods, and is keen to seize all possible opportunities to carry out its national role, and to fulfill its responsibility towards the country that goes to work.
