Today, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education signed a cooperation protocol with the Volkswagen Group in Egypt, to launch the Volkswagen Group School of Applied Technology, in the academic year 2021/2022.

The protocol was signed by Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Karim Najjar, representative of the Volkswagen Group in Egypt, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education Affairs, and Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Director of the Technology Schools Administration Unit Applied, and a number of leaders of the Ministry and the Volkswagen Group.

Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, affirmed the ministry’s steps towards expanding and increasing the number of applied technology schools and the inclusion of many new specializations according to the needs of the labor market and in line with the Egyptian state’s strategy and 2030 vision, and providing technical education that combines theoretical and practical sides in a way that enables students By acquiring the techniques, skills and capabilities needed for the job market.

Shawky referred to the state's plan towards settling the auto industry and the industries that feed it in Egypt, and its developmental, environmental and economic dimensions, pointing out that the state pays great attention to opening a group of applied technology schools specialized in the automotive field, to stimulate the transportation industry and industries that feed it locally, keeping pace with global progress in The field of the auto industry and the future prospects for that industry.

In a related context, Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education Affairs, emphasized the effective role of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education's cooperation with private sector companies to launch schools of applied technology, and the consequent exchange of experiences and a balance between the theoretical and practical sides that enrich the process. With regard to the Volkswagen Group School of Applied Technology, Mujahid said that the theoretical aspect of the school will be applied on the basis of curricula based on the merits system, and the practical side by providing workshops and practical training for students in factories and companies; This is to ensure that students keep abreast of the developments in the field of auto repair and maintenance.

Mujahid concluded that the application of international standards in teaching methods, training, evaluation and curricula followed in the school will be taken into account as its counterparts in schools of applied technology, and the opening of the door for applications for teachers and administrators to join the school will soon be announced through the official website of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education.

For his part, Mr. Karim Najjar, the representative of the Volkswagen Group in Egypt, expressed his happiness at signing this protocol with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and stressed the important role of education in the rehabilitation of our students, as the Volkswagen Group is keen to prepare new generations of technicians and specialists in the field of maintenance And car repair, they are distinguished by their morals, studies, skills and abilities, to become fully qualified to meet the requirements of the labor market, and able to contribute to the development of this field.

Karim Najjar added that the Volkswagen Group's cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education to establish the Volkswagen Group School of Applied Technology, which will be inaugurated in the academic year 2021/2022, comes in accordance with the directions of the Egyptian state and the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to pay attention to technical education and technical employment. The Volkswagen Group exerts its utmost efforts to develop scientific content in accordance with international standards and to prepare graduates who are in line with the requirements of the labor market and the nature of the rapid changes in the automotive field; To make this school one of the pillars of the state’s plan towards settling the auto industry and the industries that feed it in Egypt.
