"Education" signs a cooperation protocol with the Upper Egypt Company to establish the first applied technology school in Sohag Governorate
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education signed a joint cooperation protocol with the Upper Egypt Company to establish the STEP School of Applied Technology in Sohag Governorate in the academic year 2023/2024.
Dr. Mohamed Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education Affairs, said that the STEP School of Applied Technology specialized in artificial intelligence, plastics industry, and mechatronics, is the first applied technology school in Sohag Governorate, and confirms the ministry's steps towards expansion and the establishment of more applied technology schools in Upper Egypt; To provide the opportunity for all students to enroll in applied technology schools, and he explained that with the signing of this protocol, the number of applied technology schools has now become 41 schools in 12 governorates throughout the Republic, namely Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Qalyubia, Suez, Menoufia, Sharkia, Port Said, Suez, Assiut, Sohag , Minya.
Mujahid added that the curricula at the STEP School of Applied Technology will be based on the merit system; To ensure that students acquire the skills and knowledge that fully qualify them to join the labor market upon their graduation, and work will be done on a balance between the theoretical and practical sides, through 3 main axes on which the aforementioned school curricula are based, like their counterparts from the schools of applied technology, which are cultural subjects, and specialized technical subjects, and practical training.
Dr. Amr Basileh, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Operation and Management Unit for Applied Technology Schools, expressed his happiness at signing the STEP School of Applied Technology protocol, pointing to the efforts made by the Ministry to develop technical education in accordance with the Egyptian State Vision 2030, coinciding with opening the door for students to apply for enrollment. With schools of applied technology for the academic year 2022/2023, the ministry concludes more agreements in order to expand and establish more schools of applied technology for the academic year 2023/2024.
Basileh announced that, in the next few days, the door for applications will be opened for teachers and administrators of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education to join the work team of the applied technology schools in the various governorates of the Republic.
