Within the framework of starting to implement the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministries of Education and Technical Education and Labor regarding linking the outputs of vocational education and training to the needs of the labor market, and participating in the operation and management of fixed training centers, Mr. Mohamed Gebran, Minister of Labor, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, visited Qena Governorate, where they inspected Qift Vocational Training Center located in the center of Qift City.

This came in the presence of Dr. Hazem Omar, Deputy Governor of Qena, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister of Education for Strategic Planning and Follow-up, Mr. Hani Antar, Director of the Education Directorate in the Governorate, and a number of members of the People's Assembly in the Governorate.

Minister Mohamed Gebran, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif and Dr. Hazem Omar, Deputy Governor, inspected the Vocational Training Center, located on an area of ​​35,000 square meters, which was allocated by a decision in 2001 and was opened in 2018. It includes 22 departments, and the most prominent specialized courses are "electricity, plumbing, welding, refrigeration and air conditioning, sewing, embroidery, computer maintenance, mobile maintenance, surveying, electronic marketing, and receiver and screen maintenance."

The two ministers also inspected the electrical installations workshop, where they viewed the devices and equipment used in training and the tools used in the field of electrical installations, as well as the sewing workshop, and listened to an explanation of the training method and programs provided in the workshop, which aims to develop students' skills and enhance their craftsmanship skills in designing and sewing clothes with the highest levels of quality.

The two ministers also visited the welding workshop and the sanitary plumbing workshop, where they watched how students are trained to use various welding tools and train students to perform precise and complex welds, as well as the equipment used to train students on sanitary plumbing, and the practical training method to enable students to acquire the necessary skills and enhance their technical capabilities and skills.

In this context, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif directed to increase the number of training days for students of neighboring technical schools at the Qift Vocational Training Center to develop their capabilities and skills in line with the requirements of the labor market.

Minister of Labor Mohamed Gebran stressed that the program of today's visit to Qena Governorate, from inspecting the training center, handing over contracts to people of determination, and handing over certificates to graduates of training centers, comes within the framework of implementing the goals of the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Building", and the presence of the Minister of Education in these events also confirms the new policy of the government, which is to work in the spirit of one team for the benefit of the citizen and the homeland.

Minister Gebran praised the efforts made by the Minister of Education for a distinguished educational process without overcrowding in classrooms, and developing curricula to suit the needs of the labor market, as well as his cooperation with the Ministry of Labor in the fields of vocational training and linking training and education to the needs of the "labor market", through a protocol that aims to benefit from the capabilities and expertise of the two ministries, especially the vocational training centers affiliated with the Ministry of Labor, and to benefit from them in training industrial school students in the professions needed by the labor market at home and abroad, in implementation of the President's directives, during the summer vacation, or during the educational process.

The Minister pointed out the importance of intensifying cooperation between the institutions concerned with the training file within the governorate; to provide skilled and trained workers for factories and companies, and said that the state is always working to provide a decent life for the citizen.

The Minister addressed a message to the people of the governorate, urging them to continue standing behind the political leadership, and confronting all malicious rumors, with more work and production.

For his part, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif praised the Vocational Training Center, pointing out that the close cooperation with the Ministry of Labor within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed between the two ministries aims to link the outputs of vocational education and training with the needs of the labor market by focusing on increasing the number of trainees from students and graduates to keep pace with the labor market.

The Minister of Education stressed that the Ministry is keen to make a breakthrough in the technical education sector in cooperation with various ministries and agencies as one of the most important ways to achieve sustainable development, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The Minister referred to his previous visit to the center when it was being prepared, where he noted that the workshops are equipped with the latest technologies, allowing technical education students to benefit from them and learn a good education and acquire high technical skills through the practical part.

For his part, Dr. Hazem Omar, Deputy Governor of Qena, pointed out that Qift Center is the development pole for achieving comprehensive development and serving the industrial zone and the free zone, thanks to the resources and development and urban capabilities available in this place, explaining that the coordination between the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Education and Qena Governorate aims to make the most of all available resources.

Dr. Hazem Omar explained that by inspecting the workshops, he was able to see the equipment and tools provided by the state that were previously unused, and are now at the service of students in various industrial education departments. He pointed out that these workshops work to provide students with the necessary practical skills, as they are able to benefit from the theoretical part that they study in schools and apply it practically inside factories, saying: “We seek to expand this initiative at the level of the entire governorate to enable the largest possible number of students to obtain this type of useful practical training.”

During the visit to the center, the Minister of Labor, the Minister of Education, and the Deputy Governor handed over 36 certificates of completion of training courses to young men and women, including 18 certificates in the professions of "surveying and mapping" or "general surveyor" for graduates of the vocational training center in Qift, 9 certificates in the professions of sewing for graduates of the mobile training vehicle in Qena village, and 9 certificates in the profession of sewing for graduates of the fixed training unit in Qena. During the inspection activities, the two ministers also handed over 14 work contracts to people with disabilities, as part of implementing the goals of the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development", and integrating people with disabilities into the labor market, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
