The activities of the final qualifiers for the National Reading Project were launched today, with the participation of 3 million and 500 thousand students from various governorates, with the aim of creating a renaissance in reading by making it a priority for all segments of society. With the achievement of cognitive sustainability that puts Egypt in the decent position it deserves among countries.

Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Dr. Reda Hegazy, Deputy Minister for Teachers Affairs, confirmed that the National Reading Project is a competitive cultural project aimed at directing Egyptian children and youth to continue critical creative functional reading. Which enables them to acquire knowledge, apply it and produce new from it, in order to reach a community that learns, thinks and innovates, which is consistent with Egypt Vision 2030, and is consistent with the development agenda of the Ministry of Education, Education and Technical Education.

The Deputy Minister for Teachers Affairs explained that this project is based on four main dimensions, namely: the knowledge competition in reading among school students, the Diamond Code in which university students compete in reading, and the educated teacher; Where teachers compete in reading, and the institution of enlightenment; And in which societal institutions compete.

He pointed out that the national project for reading aims at developing awareness of the importance of reading, empowering emerging generations with the keys to innovation through critical creative reading that produces knowledge, enhancing patriotism and a sense of belonging and supporting national and human values, enriching the cultural environment in schools, institutes and universities, and achieving cultural environment in schools, institutes and universities. As well as encouraging community partnerships that support reading.

Dr. Reda Hegazy said that the current educational system employs distance learning resources, and enables the learner to acquire knowledge, process it, and use it in a creative and innovative way, leading to broadening the scope of thinking about the concept of (learning societies), adding that Egyptian education is currently witnessing a quantum leap in civilization. Based on the launch of the "Egyptian Knowledge Bank"; To help learners of all ages to develop their knowledge and skills to fit the requirements of the twenty-first century.

Dr. Reda Hegazy also referred to the efforts made in developing a large number of school curricula, developing evaluation and examination systems and methods, and launching many interactive platforms, educational channels, and live broadcast platforms, to enable students to (contact) the educational system, all the time and everywhere To maximize the ability of the Egyptian learner to acquire knowledge from its various sources and employ it in various fields.

The activities of the project final qualifiers were attended by Mr. Said Siddiq, Head of the Central Administration for Planning and Quality, Mr. Mohamed Saad, Director of the Education Directorate in Alexandria, Dr. Hussam Al-Mandawah, a member of the House of Representatives for the Education and Scientific Research Committee, Hisham Al-Sanjari, responsible for the project, Muhammad Abdullah Secretary General of Teachers, and the symposium El Husseiny, President of the Association for Special Education.
