Minister of Education Receives French Ambassador in Cairo)

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received today Ambassador Eric Chevallier, the French Ambassador to Egypt, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of developing technical education and joint educational projects.

During the meeting, Minister Abdel Latif emphasized the Egyptian government's commitment to expanding international partnerships that support the reform and development of the pre-university education system. He pointed to the significant potential for cooperation with France, particularly in the areas of developing technical education curricula, academic supervision, and teacher training, with the aim of providing technical education graduates with internationally recognized certificates that will open doors to employment opportunities both within and outside Egypt.

The Minister also highlighted the successful cooperation model with Italy, explaining that cooperation protocols are scheduled to be signed to launch 89 new applied technology schools in various fields, adhering to the highest international standards.

The Minister indicated that the Ministry is keen to establish a similar partnership with France, given the Egyptian government's focus on improving the quality of technical education to meet the needs of the local and international labor markets.

For his part, Ambassador Eric Chevallier praised Egypt's ambitious vision for developing technical education, emphasizing the French side's keenness to explore opportunities and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in this important field.

The meeting also addressed ways to support joint educational projects, including supporting schools that use French as the first language and expanding cooperation between teachers and experts from both countries.

The meeting was attended by David Sadulet, Advisor for Cooperation and Cultural Activities and Director of the French Institute in Egypt; Daniel Renaud, Attaché for Educational Cooperation; Jérôme Touron, Deputy Director of the French Development Agency; and, from the Ministry of Education, Dr. Hanem Ahmed, Advisor to the Minister of Education for International Cooperation and Agreements.
