Minister of Education Receives Spanish Ambassador in Cairo)

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Ambassador Sergio Carneza, the Spanish Ambassador to Cairo, today to discuss bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Spain in the field of technical and vocational education, and to review ways to develop educational programs in accordance with international standards.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Abdel Latif emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation and exchanging expertise with Spain, given the Ministry's efforts to strengthen international partnerships in technical education. This aims to provide accredited curricula that meet global standards and award internationally recognized certificates to graduates of applied technology schools, thus contributing to better job opportunities for them in both the local and international markets. This, in turn, will raise the quality of technical education in Egypt to meet international standards.

In this context, the Minister reviewed the strong strategic partnership with Italy in the field of technical education. Cooperation protocols have been signed with Italy to launch 10 applied technology schools, and further cooperation protocols are planned to launch 89 new applied technology schools in various specializations.

The Minister affirmed the Ministry's commitment to building sustainable partnerships with Spanish educational institutions to develop curricula and train educational and technical staff.

For his part, Ambassador Sergio Carranza praised the existing level of cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing Spain's keenness to strengthen educational relations with Egypt and exchange expertise and best practices between educational institutions, thus directly benefiting students and teachers.

During the meeting, it was agreed to continue enhancing avenues of joint cooperation and to discuss several proposed projects in the fields of innovation and modern technology in technical education, in addition to strengthening programs for exchanging expertise between teachers and technical experts.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister; Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Head of the Applied Technology Schools Operation and Management Unit; and Dr. Hanem Ahmed, Advisor to the Minister for International Cooperation and Agreements.
