The Minister of Education inspects the rehabilitation center for people with special needs on the tenth of Ramadan

Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, inspected today the rehabilitation center for people with special needs in the Tenth of Ramadan City; To follow up the progress of work, and to check on the efficiency of the services provided by the center.
The Minister of Education confirmed that the ministry is working to provide an integrated system of services for people with special needs, in which all international standards are taken into account, within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to take care of them and work to integrate them as active elements within society.
The minister pointed out that the center expresses the real will of the Egyptian state and its leadership in serving the people of determination.
The Minister inspected the center, and reviewed the services that were harnessed to rehabilitate people with special needs, which include (8) auditory treatment clinics, (4) conversation rooms, a family counseling room, a room for playing and skills development, and (2) rooms for cognitive behavior and behavior modification, and a hall. For occupational therapy, a complementary room for sensory therapy, in addition to the areas designated for games according to the requirements specially prepared for people with special needs, in addition to the area designated for hydrotherapy and physiotherapy.
Dr. Tariq Shawky praised the efforts made and the services provided by the center, and thanked all the work team, noting that the ministry is working to provide and prepare a team of specialized professors to supervise the programs offered to people with disabilities through a cooperation protocol with the Faculty of Disability Sciences, Zagazig University, and is also working with The students are a group of teachers with experience in the field of special education.
The students’ parents expressed their appreciation for the free services provided by the center to their children, which greatly contributed to improving their health and lifting the burden on them, in addition to benefiting from the counseling lectures; To educate parents about how to deal with their children, students of determination, and individual and group programs, whether therapeutic, rehabilitation, training or educational programs for all people of determination from the governorates of Egypt.
The parents also thanked those in charge of the center and the available workshops dedicated to developing their children’s manual skills, the arts, music and computer rooms, which are equipped with the latest devices and tools, and the rooms designated to host people with special needs and their families at the highest level.
It is worth noting that the Rehabilitation Center for People with Special Needs was established in the 10th of Ramadan City in 2019. This center is considered one of the largest centers for the rehabilitation of people with special needs, Arab and African, with an area of ​​24 thousand square meters, interspersed with green spaces, up to 70% of the area. The total area of ​​the building is 5200 thousand square meters and consists of three floors.
The center receives nearly 500 cases throughout the week from various schools of education, whether from integrated students or from special education schools.
The Minister was accompanied during the visit by Dr. Hala Abdel Salam, Head of the Central Department for Special Education Affairs and Supervisor of the Central Department of Kindergarten and Basic Education, Dr. Hassan Muslim, Dean of the Faculty of Disability Sciences, Zagazig University, Muhammad Ali Metwally, Director General of the Tenth of Ramadan Educational Department, and Dr. Muhammad Niazi, Acting Director of the Rehabilitation Center for People with Special Needs in the Tenth of Ramadan City.
