Within the framework of the "School is a Place for All of Us" campaign
The political leadership paid great attention to people with disabilities, which was manifested by designating 2018 as the year of people with disabilities in Egypt, and issuing Law No. 10 of 2018 and its executive regulations to guarantee the rights of people with disabilities, and providing all privileges to them, in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030.
Within the framework of the awareness campaign launched by the Ministry in cooperation with the British Council under the title "School is a Place for All of Us", the Ministry of Education and Technical Education indicated that Egypt's Vision 2030 included the main objectives of the education and training axis "Providing education for all without discrimination", and from this main goal came a sub-goal represented in "providing a comprehensive environment that supports the process of integrating people with mild disabilities into pre-university schools and improving the quality of special education schools for learners with severe and multiple disabilities", in light of the international trend towards inclusive education that depends on providing appropriate opportunities for education, teaching and support for all male and female students without disabilities, people with disabilities and gifted students side by side in general education schools.
The ministry explained that in light of the interest in integration students, a number of organizing legislations have been issued, as the first legislation to organize the integration process was issued in 2008, and legislations have followed since that date until the current year 2024, the most important of which are Ministerial Resolution No. 252 of 2017 regarding the acceptance of integrated people with disabilities currently in effect, Law No. 10 of 2018 and its executive regulations regarding the rights of persons with disabilities, in addition to Ministerial Resolution No. 27 of 2023 regarding the ratio of objective questions to essay questions in examinations for people with disabilities.
The Ministry added that due to these efforts, the number of students enrolled in all types and stages of education for the year 2023/2024 currently stands at (159,825) male and female students, who benefit from the services provided to students of the educational integration system, compared to (3,697) male and female students in 2012/2013, and (37,519) male and female students in 2017/2018.
