The Minister of Education holds a meeting with the British Council and Cambridge
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with Nader Younan, President of the International School Owners Association, and Elizabeth White, Director of the British Council in Egypt. To discuss strengthening cooperation mechanisms in various educational services in international public schools (IPS) during the coming period.
The minister emphasized that international public schools represent a shining model in Egyptian education, as they provide a distinguished educational service, indicating that the ministry aims to expand the numbers of these schools during the next stage, as they currently number 20 schools, thanking the International Public Schools Owners Foundation for its initiative to establish these schools. .
Dr. Reda Hegazy added that the Ministry is keen to provide all the necessary capabilities for international public schools (IPS), including curricula and classes that are equipped in a manner commensurate with their nature, and equipped with advanced laboratories, as well as the use of qualified teachers and their adoption of modern methods of teaching.
Dr. Reda Hegazy pointed out that the International Public Schools (IPS) offer an international educational model based on curricula designed according to the latest international systems, stressing that these schools have won the confidence of the Egyptian society, and this was reflected in the high demand for them.
The minister explained that the International Public Schools (IPS) are working to raise the level of education in Egypt as a step to keep pace with global developments, as these schools support the (British system), and also provide an opportunity for parents wishing to teach their children an international education with appropriate expenses.
For her part, Elizabeth White affirmed the British Council's continued support for the Ministry of Education's vision of International Public Schools (IPS), and its ambition to increase the number of these schools.
The meeting discussed mechanisms for enhancing cooperation during the coming period in providing various educational services in international public schools (IPS). It was also agreed to prepare a cooperation protocol involving the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, the International Public Schools Owners Association, the British Council, and Cambridge; To further activate cooperation mechanisms.
The meeting was attended by Mai Al-Haddad, Executive Director of Cambridge in Egypt and North Africa, Shaima Al-Banna, Head of the Education Sector at the British Council in Egypt, Fakhr Jeffrey, Head of Examinations Sector at the Council, Abdel Raouf Allam, Head of the Supreme Council of Trustees, Parents and Teachers, Ghada Dajani, Administrative Director of the Modern English School, and Salah Aisha, Director The Regional School of Choueifat.
And attended by the Ministry of Education, Muhammad Attia, head of the Central Administration for Education with expenses, Maha Mikhail, Director General of the International Public Schools Administration, and Muhammad Sharif from the Office of the Minister of Education.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Elizabeth White, Director of the British Council in Egypt, signed a cooperation protocol regarding the implementation of a number of activities that support learning English and developing the skills of teachers of English, mathematics and science at the primary stage.
The protocol is considered the foundation of a new phase, aimed at enhancing cooperation in the areas of training programmes. To build the capacities of teacher trainers and groups of practitioners for the teaching profession to include 20,000 teachers, in addition to meeting the needs related to teachers' English language proficiency, teaching skills and awareness of global environmental issues, implementing a number of activities that support English language learning, and developing the skills of teachers of English, mathematics and science in the primary stage Primary school in the twenty-seven governorates of Egypt.
