Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held, via video conference technology, a meeting with the directors of educational directorates in all governorates, to discuss the educational directorates’ preparations for the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023, and to emphasize the duties and responsibilities organizing the discipline of the educational process.
This came in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister for Directorate Affairs, Dr. Randa Shaheen, Head of the Central Administration for Public Education, Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office, heads of central departments, and directors of General administrations, and general managers of the development of academic subjects.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hijazi stressed the necessity of discipline the educational process and continuous follow-up, by all members of the educational system, during the second semester, attracting students to schools and adhering to the important and organized mechanisms and procedures to discipline the progress of the educational process, indicating that directors of directorates will be evaluated from During the discipline of the educational process in the directorate, with a movement of change and rotation of the directorate leaders based on performance at the end of the second semester through excellence and good follow-up in the discipline of the directorate.
During the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy issued a number of directives, stressing the completion of simple maintenance work in schools before the start of the second semester.
The minister also indicated that a competition for 30,000 teachers has been completed to fill the positions of assistant teachers (kindergarten and class teacher), and the ministry is preparing to train them in the educational aspect, physical and mental fitness before they take over the work, stressing the educational directorates to complete the movement of movement in order to accommodate the new teachers with Coordination according to their numbers in each directorate.
The minister stressed the organization of the distinguished educational administration competition, which aims to create a competitive state between the different educational departments and then the educational directorates with the aim of highlighting successful models and designing an integrated model of development within each educational department, stressing that indicators and development axes were sent to choose the distinguished administration in order to become A role model in all educational and administrative procedures and practices.
The minister also instructed the directors of educational directorates to take all necessary measures to activate "support groups" in schools, indicating that support groups will be inside schools for transportation classes, while (3-5) schools are selected in each educational department equipped with a theater or halls equipped to present groups. Support for certificate classes, as well as selecting the best distinguished teachers to teach various subjects in support groups, especially for the middle and high school certificates stage, in addition to the possibility of seeking help from teachers from outside the educational system and obtaining a permit to practice groups after verifying their educational competence.
The minister explained that procedures have been set for the financial handling of the support groups, and the teacher's dues will be paid immediately after the completion of the class with the support group.
Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed adherence to the periodic book for following up on daily absences and discipline the conduct of the study to ensure the proper functioning of the educational process in the various stages of education and emphasizing the activation of electronic registration of absences weekly for all educational stages, especially students of the preparatory and general secondary certificate, as well as activating punitive measures for absence, stressing the importance of Providing all means of attracting students to the school to benefit from the educational process.
Dr. Reda Hegazy reviewed the procedures for starting the activation of the third phase of the application of the Day of Sports, Artistic and Cultural Activities in schools with the beginning of the second semester at the level of all academic levels, reaching 100% by the end of the current academic year, with the aim of discovering, encouraging and developing talents among students in cooperation with my ministry. Youth, sports, culture and work to restore the attractive educational role assigned to the school.
During the meeting, the Minister directed the review of school schedules, the distribution of tasks and roles to all school staff, as well as the supervision schedules. He also stressed the prohibition of the use of corporal and psychological punishment and the activation of the school discipline regulation.
The minister also stressed the need to complete the delivery of books to students at the beginning of the second semester.
The Minister also instructed the directorates to allow those who wish to see the scores in mid-year exams inside schools, not to link the result to tuition fees, and to receive and discuss grievance requests for the first and second secondary grades on the paper exam only.
The minister stressed that the transportation exams for February will be held during the first week of March in the curriculum of February and the first week of March, and that the March exam will be held in the first week of April in the curriculum of March and the first of April.
The minister also directed the preparation of school trip schedules for national projects and the organization of field visits to national projects. To raise awareness and write a report for each student on these field visits that he made to deepen the extent to which he benefited from them, as well as integrating the concepts of confronting climate change in the various academic subjects, directing the preparation of the achievements of each directorate in all fields of activities and sending them to the Ministry.
The minister also stressed the interest in the morning queue, saluting the flag and the republican peace in all schools nationwide.
Dr. Al-Wazir also stressed on the directors of the directorates to assign the instructors of identity subjects (Arabic language, social studies and national education) to set transfer exams for international school students in their governorates.
The minister directed the educational directorates to intensify spreading awareness among students of the procedures that must be followed in the event of earthquakes or disasters, in addition to preparing awareness seminars for students in this context.
Dr. Reda Hegazy also emphasized the ministry's keenness on the safety of its students, and awareness of the dangers of electronic games and fifth-generation wars, pointing out the need for the directorates to follow up on the training package that was prepared in this regard; In addition to activating the school's role in developing students' awareness of the values of national belonging, confronting these risks, and developing the skills of school principals, within the framework of sustainable professional development.
With regard to high school exams, Dr. Al-Wazir stressed the importance of reviewing all high school committees, the necessity of preparing schools and carrying out maintenance for them, and examining the readiness of schools that are suitable as high school monitoring committees, reiterating the emphasis on not transferring any student in the third year of high school.
