The Ministers of "Education" and "Immigration" and the President of the National Council for Women participate in the conclusion of the "She Leads" program
Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Ambassador Nabila Makram, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Abroad Affairs, and Dr. Maya Morsi, President of the National Council for Women, participated in the closing ceremony of the “She Leads” program, for the second year in a row, which aims to provide support to female students. Technical education by developing their skills and ideas and transforming them into stable sources of income through trainings designed to develop their personal and practical skills.
The ceremony, which was held at the General Office of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, was attended by Dr. Reda Hegazy, Deputy Minister of Education for Teachers’ Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister of Education for Technological Development, and Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office. Major General Ahmed Abdel-Fattah, Head of the Central Security Administration, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Operation and Management Unit for Applied Technology Schools, and a number of leaders of the Ministry of Education, Representative Suha Al-Saeed, a member of the Senate from the Coordination of Youth Parties and Politicians, and Dr. Amr Othman, Assistant Minister Social Solidarity, Director of the Addiction and Drug Abuse Control and Treatment Fund, a delegation from the Coordination of Youth Parties and Politicians, and Representative Ahmed Fathi, Member of Parliament and Executive Director of the Youth Leaders Foundation.
In his speech, Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, congratulated and saluted the students participating in the program, thanking the Youth Leaders Foundation for its endeavor to graduate youth cadres, introducing students to entrepreneurship and training them to be actors in the future.
Shawky added that technical education is of exceptional importance on the part of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, by directing the establishment of more applied technology schools in industrial and investment disciplines; Hoping to localize major industries, to make the Egyptian market open to Egyptian youth.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Education began, as of July 2018, to adopt a clear strategy to reform, transform and develop technical education, as this strategy was built on five pillars represented in improving quality by establishing an independent body to ensure quality and accreditation in the fields of technical and technical education and vocational training.
The Minister of Education and Technical Education reviewed a number of school models that were established during the past few years, which depend on the application of modern technology in training students in various departments, including Egypt Gold School of Applied Technology.
The Minister of Education and Technical Education clarified the possibility of participating in what was presented today in the (She Leads) program in the upcoming World Youth Forum before President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
For her part, the Minister of Immigration praised the efforts to support technical education, as it is the backbone of industry and the renaissance undertaken by countries, stressing that the objectives of the “She Leads” technical education program achieve what we aspire to in Egypt’s conferences. The Minister of Immigration praised the cooperation between government institutions, civil society institutions and civil work, with the political leadership dedicating 2022 as the year of civil society, stressing full support for linking our youth and experts at home with scholars and experts abroad.
Ambassador Nabila Makram added that the Egyptian state is keen to pay attention to education, which we are witnessing in the expansion of the launch of technology schools and specialized universities, as well as the development of curricula in line with the vision of the era.
In a related context, the Minister of Immigration praised the efforts of our scholars and experts abroad, for their keenness to transfer their expertise in the various technical fields in which they are distinguished, stressing that they do not delay for a moment to support the country with their ideas and efforts, to participate in the realization of Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030.
Dr. Maya Morsi also expressed her keenness to develop the ideas of technical education girls in preparation for them to be entrepreneurs in society, which reflects the role of women in the economic renaissance and contributes to changing the societal view of technical education, stressing the importance of the role of private sector participation in giving impetus to the program by providing technical expertise necessary.
Naglaa Nassir, Head of the Social Responsibility Sector at Telecom Egypt, confirmed that the Ministry of Communications is working on the economic empowerment of technical education students, noting that the ideas of technical education students participating in the She Leads competition of the Youth Leaders Foundation are genius, explaining that there are many positive steps taken by the state to attract students For technical education, people are starting to change their ideas towards technical education.
For his part, Abdel Rafie Al Hashemi, Head of Retail Banking at Attijariwafa Bank, praised the partnership with the She Leads program, explaining that he is proud to support the She Leads program to encourage technical education students, so that they gain self-confidence to face life’s challenges by understanding and choosing projects, conducting studies and transforming their dreams into fact.
Nancy Helmy, Head of Human Resources Department and a member of Merck’s Board of Directors in Egypt and Emerging Markets, said that the previous experience of the “She Leads” program led to the expansion of the participation of other governorates in the program this year, as it was discovered that there is great energies among female students, and the projects of school students were supported. The events included a tour to review the products of the female students participating in the project, and their leather products, accessories, clothes and other products for the blind, solar energy and other ideas for small and medium enterprises.
The winning teams are: Team Tyndall, which won first place in the field of technical innovations, and second place is the SSE team for female students of the Electricity School for Girls in Ismailia Governorate.
In the field of handicrafts, first place was won by the Mathaf team, and second place by a hand-made team of female students of the Industrial Electrical School for Girls, Ismailia.
In the field of fashion, the “Naqsh” team won first place for the students of Cairo Secondary School for Girls, and the “Ze” team won the second place for the students of Al-Silhdar Technical Industrial School for Girls in Cairo Governorate.
The initiative of the technical education program "She Leads" is based on the efforts of the youth coordination of the parties, where Representative Ahmed Fathy is the CEO of the Youth Leaders Foundation, and the activities were presented by Representative Dina Abdel Karim, with the participation of Representative Soha Al-Saeed, members of the coordination of the parties' youth and politicians.
The Technical Education Program “She Leads” began to support female technical education students in 2019.
