The Ministry of Education and Technical Education confirmed that what was being circulated during the past few days on some social media about transferring Sheikh Zayed Hotel School students to other remote schools and replacing them with Ammar School of Applied Technology students was incorrect, stressing that all students of Sheikh Zayed Hotel School Existing students will not be affected until they graduate from school and obtain a diploma.

Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Education and Technical Education for Technical Education, said that the ministry is working to develop the technical education system with the interest of students as a priority, regardless of the educational system the student attends, whether it is one of the traditional technical education schools whose curricula are developed in cooperation with Representatives of the labor market according to the professional competency methodology, schools of dual education, schools of applied technology or centers of excellence established by the Ministry in partnership with the private and public sectors and international bodies.

He added that the main purpose of providing the various educational systems is to develop Egyptian technical education to meet the needs of the labor market, as stipulated in Article (20) of the Egyptian Constitution in 2014. All of these systems work together for the benefit of the student first.

He pointed out that the ministry provided many means of cooperation with private sector companies in the past few years and launched in this context the system of applied technology schools and centers of excellence, according to a specific methodology to achieve the needs of the Egyptian and regional labor market of qualified and trained labor in many fields.

He continued: "Cooperation with the private sector aims mainly at the participation of the private sector in developing the technical manpower required in its field of activity, and this cooperation takes place in accordance with specific standards and methodology that take into account, in the first place, working to form distinguished graduates who are able to compete in the labor market, as the Ministry provides the school building and equipment. It participates in the selection of students and teachers, provided that the industrial partner undertakes the task of developing the school’s infrastructure, raising its quality, developing laboratories and workshops, adding buildings if needed, providing practical training for students in its economic facilities during the school year, as well as providing jobs for the distinguished among them after graduation, and contracting with an agency Quality assurance in the field of education to monitor the quality of the educational process in the school and work to adopt internationally developed study programs, and provide additional incentives for teachers and students, and are committed to not collecting any additional expenses from students.

The Deputy Minister explained that the transformation of the Sheikh Zayed Hotel School into the Ammar School for Applied Technology will benefit the interest of students and teachers alike, as the industrial partner, Ammar Real Estate Development Company, will develop the school's infrastructure and raise its quality, in addition to providing material incentives for teachers and students, and applying Modern curricula based on the methodology of professional competencies in the fields of real estate development and hotel development, within the framework of implementing the Ministry’s strategy towards developing technical education, which is based on five main axes, namely, improving quality, through the establishment of an independent body to ensure quality and accreditation in the fields of technical education (Itqan) Adopting competency-based curricula, improving teachers’ skills through establishing an academy to train technical education teachers, engaging business owners in developing technical education, and changing the stereotyped mental image of technical education, while emphasizing that all schools of applied technology are free.

With regard to the enrollment process for students at Ammar School of Applied Technology, Mujahid said that the number of new students in the first grade of secondary school will be increased for the school year 2022-2023 compared to last year, when 63 students were accepted at Sheikh Zayed Hotel School, so the minimum grades for admission of new students to the school have been reduced. to 190 out of 280 in order to allow 150 new students to progress to school.
