"Education" signs a joint cooperation protocol with the Chamber of Food Industries to raise the efficiency and competitiveness of the Egyptian industry
Today, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education signed a joint cooperation protocol with the Chamber of Food Industries, with the aim of cooperation between the two sides in raising the efficiency and competitiveness of the Egyptian industry in the field of food manufacturing and agricultural production.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education, and Eng. Ashraf El-Gazairly, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Food Industries in the Federation of Egyptian Industries, in the presence of Eng. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Director General of Agricultural Education.
Dr. Mohamed Megahed said that this protocol comes in light of Egypt’s vision 2030, and within the framework of the efforts made by the ministry to prepare a skilled technician who is able to compete in the local, regional and global markets, and to participate positively in the progress and advancement of the country, noting that the ministry aims to raise competitiveness and meet investment needs. in Egypt by extending bridges of partnership with public and private sector institutions operating in their fields of specialization; In order to qualify students and provide them with skills and information, in addition to the behaviors that must be available to qualify a skilled technical graduate who is able to compete in the labor market, and to provide a distinguished educational service in the field of food processing and agricultural production.
He added that the ministry is adopting a strategy to develop technical education, which has been launched since 2018, stressing the utmost importance that the state attaches to advancing the technical education path and achieving the desired goal, adding that the number of technical education students is now about 2.2 million, noting that programs and curricula have been developed. A new study was made of the skills required for graduates of technical education, and the curricula were based on competencies, as well as the presentation of the model of applied technology schools, which became 38 schools.
Eng. Ashraf Al-Jazairy expressed his happiness with the participation and fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the Egyptian Chamber of Industries under a wise political leadership that believes in the importance of developing technical education in all its fields, noting that the Chamber of Food Industries is one of the largest and most efficient institutions that plays a major role in enhancing capacity. The competitiveness of food and beverages manufactured in Egypt, and it has sufficient experience in implementing the latest training programs in the food industry and agricultural production sector, according to the needs of the labor market, stressing the need for community participation in supporting the Ministry’s efforts by supporting and developing the training and qualification system for each of technical secondary school students. Agricultural, steering and teaching authority in different governorates.
The protocol stipulates that the ministry will approve the establishment of new technical programs in the fields of food industries and agricultural production, in accordance with the requirements of the labor market and the surrounding environment, and motivate school administrations, teachers and students; To participate in competitions that lead to the development of the skills of students and teachers.
The protocol also stipulated that the Chamber of Food Industries provide opportunities for practical training for students of agricultural technical secondary schools in major export farms and food processing companies, through the skills training program; To enhance their capabilities and skills, to qualify them for a job opportunity after graduation, and to organize training courses for agricultural technical secondary schools’ mentors and teachers in the field of food industries and agricultural production; To raise their capabilities and provide them with the skills to deal with modern technologies in industry, agriculture, the use of computers and modern projectors, and to contribute to the development of the administrative, technical and supervisory capabilities of the principals of agricultural schools at the level of the Republic, and to contribute to the training of trainers for members of the Education Authority; In order to achieve the principle of sustainability, as well as developing agricultural technical education programs on the technical merits system, according to the needs of the labor market, organizing competitions, presenting prizes in areas that lead to the development of students and teachers’ skills, and supporting the Ministry’s efforts to develop laboratories and workshops with equipment and devices.
