Minister of Education and Technical Education Discusses Mechanisms to Enhance Cooperation)

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Ambassador Dominic Goh, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Cairo, on Monday. The meeting followed up on the successful visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, to Egypt recently, which witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries to enhance the development of technical and vocational education and teacher training.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif welcomed the Singaporean Ambassador, emphasizing Egypt's pride in the distinguished historical relations between the two countries and the Ministry of Education's commitment to implementing what was agreed upon during the Singaporean President's visit, to achieve mutual benefit from Singapore's distinguished expertise in technical education development, curriculum development, and teacher training.

During the meeting, the Singaporean Ambassador affirmed his country's keenness to enhance cooperation in the field of education development, appreciating the rapid and tangible progress witnessed by Egypt in technical and vocational education.

The ambassador affirmed his country's desire to deepen cooperation with Egypt in various educational fields, with a focus on developing technical education, teacher training, and updating curricula to align with international standards and the requirements of the modern labor market.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation mechanisms in the coming period to implement the provisions of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries, expand areas of cooperation related to curriculum development, teacher training and qualification programs, and enhance quality systems in technical education.
