The Ministers of Education and Immigration inaugurate the activities of the "I Speak Arabic" celebration
In implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to expand the scope of interactive educational and educational programs aimed at strengthening the belonging of Egyptian youth and children in the homeland and consolidating the Egyptian identity within the framework of the “Speak Arabic” presidential initiative, Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Ambassador Nabila Makram Abdel Shaheed, Minister The State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, "Speak Arabic" celebration events at an international school in Cairo.
The events began by showing short videos about the initiative, as well as the official song for it sung by singer Carole Samaha, as well as an explanatory video for the initiative's electronic application.
Then, a panel discussion was held with a number of school students, in which the Ministers of Education and Immigration and the rest of the audience were ambassadors of the "Speak Arabic" initiative.
For his part, Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, expressed his happiness for the fruitful and effective cooperation with the Ministry of Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, and the activation of the presidential initiative “Speak Arabic”, launched by the Ministry of Immigration and Egyptians Abroad, which aims to teach our children abroad the Arabic language. And consolidating the Egyptian identity within our children, within the framework of the presidential initiative.
Shawky stressed that the curricula of the Arabic language, Islamic and Christian religious education, and the curriculum of values and respect for the other in their electronic form, will be available on the application with the aim of preserving the Egyptian national and cultural identity and consolidating belonging among Egyptian children residing abroad.
The minister sent a message to the students attending to pay attention to the Arabic language and savor its beauty in addition to learning foreign languages, pointing to the opening of the electronic education platform for our children abroad, in addition to providing books.
Ambassador Nabila Makram welcomed all the attendees and congratulated them on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan and the approaching of the glorious Easter Day and the spring holidays. Consolidating the values of peaceful coexistence, citizenship and acceptance of the other, stressing the importance of downloading and following up on the electronic application of the “Speak Arabic” initiative, which achieved great interaction from our children abroad and their parents.
The Minister of Immigration said that the "I Speak Arabic" initiative is a presidential initiative targeting Egyptians abroad to preserve the Egyptian identity and the Arabic language, because our language is the one we communicate with together and it is the haven to preserve our identity, noting that we aim to speak the Arabic language, but we also aim to adhere to and learn about our customs, traditions and identity, as we are We are different, but we are all Egyptian.
She added that there must be respect between us, and we have the principle of accepting the other, even with the difference between us. These are the characteristics of the new republic, the term launched by the president, from whom we learn as a political leadership that believes in diversity, fabrication and acceptance of the other.
The Minister also pointed out that the political leadership attaches great importance to the presidential initiative "Speak Arabic", pointing to her meeting with the President of the Republic and his directives on the necessity of developing the language skills of Egyptians abroad through listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as preparing an educational guide for parents and introducing national events, as well as To provide learners with the ability to communicate with family and friends in Egypt and abroad in order to increase the bonding between the children of Egyptians in various countries.
The events were attended by a number of leaders of the Ministry of Education, including Dr. Reda Hegazy, Deputy Minister for Teachers’ Affairs, Major General Yousry Salem, Director of the General Authority for Educational Buildings, Mohamed Attia, Director of the Education Directorate in Cairo, and ambassadors of the “I Speak Arabic” initiative: Ms. Samah Abu Bakr Ezzat, a writer specializing in Children's literature, the media representative, Dr. Dina Abdel Karim, a member of the House of Representatives, the preacher Mustafa Hosni, and the media professionals, Dr. Mohamed Fathy, Yasmine Nour El-Din and Ahmed Salem, along with Mr. Nader Younan, one of the pioneers of private education in Egypt, and Mr. Maged Fawzy, Director of Well Spring Foundation.
