"Education" launches the activities of the competition for speaking in classical Arabic, rhetoric and poetic recitation

The Ministry of Education and Technical Education organized a competition for speaking classical Arabic, rhetoric and poetic recitation, and deepening the study of grammar for the year 2020/2021, via video conference at the Ministry’s general office, in its twenty-third year at the level of the Arab world, which is organized in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Administration Culture), under the patronage of Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Ambassador Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States.

Dr. Randa Shaheen, head of the public education sector, explained that the competition aims to raise the level of students in the Arabic language and its four skills: “listening, speaking, reading, and writing,” as well as helping to revive the art of impromptu rhetoric that builds effective personality and raise the level of students in recitation Expressive poetic; Which leads to upgrading the style, sound pronunciation, representation of meanings and linguistic and literary taste, and activating the skill of speaking in fusha in what the student wants to express and engage in, stressing that the criteria for evaluating the competing students are in three areas: Speaking Standard Arabic, public speaking, and poetic recitation, in addition to an objective written test to reach the highest level of effective and influential language communication.

For her part, Dr. Hana Qassem Hassanein, Director General of the Arabic Language Development, said that one of the objectives of this competition is to achieve communication between the children of Arabism, link them and cooperation through the mother tongue, "the Arabic language", which is the language that is the key to thinking, creativity and innovation among learners, stressing that the competition This year differs from previous years due to the conditions that the world is going through, but the ministry’s leaders have facilitated all the means to conduct the competition through a video conference between countries, which confirms the interest of Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education, to activate student activities, adding that the awarding students will be honored as well. Via the video conference network on Thursday 1/4/2021.

For his part, Khaled Abdel-Majid Al-Sobky, the general coordinator of the competition, pointed out that the most important characteristic of the competition is strengthening Arab ties between students, confirming that students from Egyptian schools participate in the competition, who have been promoted at the level of the educational administration and then the educational directorates in the various governorates to determine 10 winners in each stage. Preparatory - High School, from general education and people of determination after passing the exam, adding that the countries participating in the competition this year are: (Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Morocco, Qatar, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, and the Emirates).
