Minister of Education meets with representatives of the Japanese company "Sprex)

As part of his intensive meetings during his visit to Japan, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with representatives of the Japanese company "Sprex" to discuss opportunities to enhance cooperation to evaluate the academic capabilities of Egyptian students.

The meeting was attended from the Japanese side by Mr. Toshihide Ando, ​​Director General of the Middle East and African Affairs Bureau at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Yutaka Iimura, former Japanese Ambassador to France and Indonesia, and former Special Envoy of the Japanese Government to the Middle East, Ambassador Hiroshi Oka, former Japanese Ambassador to Egypt, and Ms. Megumi Kato, Deputy Director of the First Middle East Division at the Middle East and African Affairs Bureau.

The Egyptian side was represented by Ambassador Mohamed Abu Bakr, Egypt's Ambassador to Japan, Dr. Hani Hilal, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Partnership for Education, Ms. Nevin Hamouda, Minister's Advisor for Strategic Relations and Supervisor of Egyptian-Japanese Schools, Dr. Hanem Ahmed, Minister's Advisor for International Relations and Agreements, Ms. Amira Awad, Ministry Coordinator for United Nations Organizations, and a delegation from the Egyptian Embassy in Tokyo.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif expressed his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation with "Sprex" Company as a leading company in the field of education in Japan, providing various educational services, praising its role in assessing the academic capabilities of Egyptian students, by organizing the TOFAS international test in academic abilities in mathematics, which helps determine the level of students' comprehension of knowledge and identify weaknesses to develop appropriate treatment plans.

The Minister stressed that Egypt's partnership with "Sprex" Company represents an important step towards enhancing the use of modern technology in education, which contributes to creating an educational environment that is in line with international standards.

For their part, Sprix representatives reviewed areas of cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education through a memorandum of understanding signed with the ministry in 2022, which contributed to reaching 10,000 people across Egypt during 2023, and in 2024 an agreement was signed with 41 schools to implement the Sprix Learning program, and in March 2024, comprehensive training courses were implemented for school principals and teachers in all 27 governorates, where one million students have been tested in the TOFAS exam so far.

Sprix representatives expressed their happiness to provide support to Egyptian education, through innovative programs aimed at developing students' basic skills, and expressed their readiness to provide technical and training support to teachers, which contributes to raising the efficiency of the educational process.

The meeting discussed the possibility of cooperation in a number of educational projects provided by Sprix in the field of educational technology, such as distance learning programs and the use of electronic games in the learning process.
