The Ministry of Education celebrates the launch of the Steering Council for Dual Education
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), organized the (INNOVET) celebration in its second edition under the slogan "Partnerships for the Future of Technical Education"; to launch the Steering Council for Dual Education and Training.
This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education's interest in developing the technical education system, and its relentless efforts to advance practical training; and improve the quality of outputs and levels of professional competencies of Egyptian technologists and technicians in various sectors; To keep pace with global levels, meet the needs of the labor market for new professions and specializations, and prepare highly qualified technical cadres, and qualify them for the labor market in Egypt and abroad,
On behalf of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister, delivered the opening speech, during which he stressed the importance of the dual education model as one of the most important initiatives to develop technical education, where the student spends 70% of his studies within the industrial institution in his specialization in what is known as the work-based education system.
The Deputy Minister also reviewed the Ministry's strategies towards technical education and plans to expand schools within industrial, agricultural and service institutions to achieve real practical training and qualify graduates to work directly in the local, regional and international market.
The Steering Council, established by Ministerial Resolution No. 191 of 2024, includes representatives of all business institutions and unions, headed by the Deputy Minister and the membership of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, the Egyptian Federation of Construction and Building Contractors, the Federation of Tourism and Hotel Chambers, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, the General Federation of Producers and Exporters of Horticultural Crops, in addition to the Egyptian Federation of Investors Associations and Institutions, the Alexandria Businessmen Association, and the Sadat City Investors Association.
The celebration witnessed the honoring of distinguished companies in providing training services to students of technical education schools as well as coordination units in various educational directorates. In addition, a discussion session was held in which council members reviewed their vision and work plans for the council in the coming period.
The celebration was attended by the Regional Director of the German Agency for International Cooperation, representatives of the relevant ministries, a large number of undersecretaries of the ministry, directors of technical education, representatives of the private sector, international cooperation agencies and civil society.
Also present were Dr. Mohamed Amara, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Schools and Head of the Quality Assurance Authority for Technical and Technological Education, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education Schools and Director of the Operation Unit for Applied Technology Schools and Dual Education, Professor Dr. Ashraf Bahjat, Head of the Central Administration for the Academy of Technical Education Teachers, and Dr. Amani Qarni, Consultant for the Central Administration for Technical Education Schools.
