Minister of Education meets with UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education
As part of his participation in the "Digital Learning Week 2024" conference held in the French capital, Paris, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with Ms. Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO; to discuss ways to enhance mutual cooperation with UNESCO in the field of pre-university education.
This meeting took place on the sidelines of the second day of the conference held under the title "Directing Technology for Education", which is organized by UNESCO during the period from September 2 to 5, 2024, in the presence of Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Ambassador of Egypt to France.
During the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, affirmed Egypt's commitment to continuing education reforms and focusing on enhancing life skills, noting that educational reforms aim to create a new generation equipped to adapt to future challenges and ways to confront them.
For her part, Ms. Stefania Giannini expressed her deep appreciation for the distinguished Egyptian efforts in the field of pre-university education, stressing the importance of the State of Egypt to UNESCO, and the organization's commitment to providing full support in all aspects of the educational process in Egypt.
The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between UNESCO and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in several projects, including UNESCO's "Open Schools for All" project and the integration of citizenship in education. The meeting also witnessed a discussion of aspects of cooperation in future projects of the Ministry of Education, which include providing expertise in developing science, mathematics and language curricula in secondary school, establishing an educational platform with UNESCO's approval, training teachers and students on technology and artificial intelligence, and supporting technical education in all its aspects in cooperation with global partnerships.
