Under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Higher Education, Scientific Research, Tourism and Antiquities, the closing ceremony of the "Future Chef" competition, organized by TVET Egypt, funded by the Egyptian government and the European Union, was concluded in cooperation with the Egyptian Federation For tourist rooms and a group of hotels and tourist facilities in Egypt.

The competition is one of the many initiatives and activities organized by the program in partnership with various ministries, government agencies and the private sector, as the competition aims to support the hotel labor market with graduates of the highest level of skill and competence, and to improve the mental image of technical education.

Nevin Jameh, Minister of Trade and Industry, said that the competition is the culmination of efforts that continued for three consecutive seasons, as the competition is distinguished by focusing on building the capabilities of young people before engaging them in professional competitions according to international standards, in line with the strategic objectives of the ministry in raising the efficiency of the Egyptian workforce. Investing in human capital represents the main objective supported by the Ministry through the TVET Egypt program by building the technical capabilities of young people and developing their personal characteristics to provide qualified workers in a way that is reflected in the sectors of industry, trade, agriculture and hospitality, to contribute to achieving comprehensive economic development and enhancing competitiveness. Egyptian in the global markets.

Jameh added that the ministry supports all projects and initiatives that aim to build the capabilities and capabilities of Egyptian youth in accordance with international standards to exploit all available job opportunities in various productive and service sectors, noting that the ministry is keen to improve the societal outlook related to technical work and the development of the idea of ​​entrepreneurship and self-employment.

On his part, Ambassador Christian Berger stated: Head of the European Union delegation to Egypt, that supporting education and developing technical and technical skills helps to increase employment opportunities and improve living conditions.

He pointed out that the competition is the result of a successful joint cooperation between the European Union and the Egyptian government to enhance and develop young people's culinary skills. The skills gained from the competition will help them find decent jobs in the tourism sector or start their own businesses, ensuring a great deal of competitiveness and innovation.

Ambassador Christian Berger added that the tourism sector is one of the most important sectors to achieve economic development in Egypt, which has a tremendous cultural heritage, pointing out that the golden procession of kings and queens has mentioned everyone in an innovative way with this rich heritage and the treasures that Egypt possesses.

Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education Affairs, stated that the competition started with the participation of 30 hotel high schools in its first season, until the number of schools participating in the third season reached 50 schools.

He explained that the competitions contribute to improving the mental image, but they must be accompanied by actual results, such as what the Ministry of Education offers, such as establishing schools of applied technology, centers of excellence, and an independent quality body for technical education, according to the mandate of His Excellency the President in July 2018, which started as a dream and today it is on its way to investigation .

He also expressed his desire to replicate the successful competition model in other technical education sectors in line with the nature of each sector.

Ghada Shalaby, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, indicated that the competition succeeded in engaging young people on whom we build great hopes for development in Egypt, especially in the tourism sector.

She also expressed her desire to implement the competition in all hotel professions in addition to cooking, based on the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the TVET program to prepare young people, whom we call food ambassadors, especially in light of the Ministry of Tourism launching a special booklet for Egyptian food in conjunction with the royal procession of kings and queens in which the celebration was held. It is under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic.

In this context, Majid Barakat, Acting Executive Director of the program, explained that the Future Chef Competition in its third consecutive season is held for students of hotel high schools and hotel institutes of both genders in various governorates, which aims to rehabilitate and develop their technical skills and create many professional professional cadres to qualify them to work in all governorates. Hotel establishments and tourism establishments in Egypt, in line with the country's strategy - Egypt Vision 2030, focusing in particular on supporting promising technical education girls and encouraging them to start entrepreneurial work and establish innovative projects especially in the tourism sector.
