The Minister of Education discusses with the President of the American University in Cairo cooperation projects
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Dr. Ahmed Dallal, President of the American University in Cairo, and Dr. Ihab Abdel Rahman, Vice President for Academic Affairs. To discuss ways of cooperation in the field of pre-university education.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy emphasized the depth of the successful relations between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the American University in Cairo, which is evident through joint programs that are implemented in cooperation with the university in providing educational services, expressing the Ministry's welcome to cooperate with the university in order to achieve Better and higher results for the development of the educational system in Egypt.
Dr. Reda Hegazy praised the cooperation with the American University in Cairo in a number of projects, including scholarships for teachers or administrators in public schools, to study the specialized educational diploma, and the provision of scholarships by the American University in Cairo for outstanding, distinguished, and first in high school, in addition to cooperation in the field of training. Through the program (Leading Change in Dynamic Organizations), as well as training teachers through the programs offered by the university to support the implementation of the strategic goals of education in Egypt.
For his part, AUC President Dr. Ahmed Dallal thanked Dr. Reda Hegazy for his keenness to cooperate with the university, stressing that the Ministry of Education and Technical Education is one of the oldest ministries, stressing the university's commitment to providing services to support the educational system in Egypt through existing projects, and looking forward to more Cooperation in future projects to serve students at the university level, which depends mainly on pre-university studies provided by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education.
Dr. Ehab Abdel Rahman, Vice President for Academic Affairs, indicated that the university has precise criteria for selecting students. To ensure the enrollment of distinguished students who are able to serve their community in the future, stressing the American University’s aspiration to further cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, introducing distinguished students in public schools to the university scholarship program and encouraging them to apply for the program to get the opportunity to choose their fields of study.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs praised the students of the STEM Schools of Excellence, who completed their studies at the university, and what their professors felt of their excellence and outstanding academic performance. The Vice President for Academic Affairs also confirmed the university's keenness to cooperate with the Ministry in the field of teacher training to provide quality education for students.
The meeting discussed a draft signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry and the American University in Cairo to start the program (Pioneers and Scholars of Egypt), which is presented by the United States Agency for International Development and implemented by the American University, and aims to provide a number of full scholarships for nearly (700) students representing all Governorates of Egypt, from high school graduates from government and experimental schools, and schools for outstanding students in science and technology, to obtain a bachelor's degree or licentiate - in various disciplines - from prestigious and high-level universities, and this program is implemented over a period of (9) years.
The meeting also discussed the criteria and mechanisms for accepting students with a high school diploma at the American University, and raising awareness of school students about the digital platform offered by the American University for teaching English for free and providing content dedicated to school students and everyone interested in learning English in Egypt, which currently includes 200 thousand students and seeks The American University aims to increase the number of beneficiaries of the services provided by the platform through the following link:

It was also agreed, during the meeting, to limit the number of teachers who received TOT training from the American University. To prepare them for online training, in light of the Ministry's implementation of its strategy for digital transformation, and their approval by the Professional Academy for Teachers.
This came in the presence of Brigadier General Tariq Al-Baz, Head of the Central Administration for Finance and Investment, Dr. Sherine Hamdi, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister's Office, and Dr. Suzy Hussein, Director General of the General Department of International Relations.
