Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education and Head of the General Secondary Examinations Examinations, held a meeting with Dr. Ramadan Mohamed Ramadan, Assistant Minister for Evaluation and Examination Systems and General Supervisor of Assessment Work, and Khaled Abdel Hakam, Head of the Central Administration for Educational Dropout and Vice President of Examinations General, where the Minister approved the answer forms. Concerning non-additive subjects exams for the total (religious education, national education, economics and statistics) for the general secondary certificate for the academic year 2022/2023, after being reviewed by the committees formed by a group of experts to start correction work.

At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed that the ministry has taken a wide range of measures to ensure the regularity of the examination system this year, in order to ensure the student’s rights, and in a manner that achieves the principle of justice, equal opportunity and transparency.

Dr. Reda Hegazy emphasized the exam quality controls, whether with regard to the conduct of the exams process or with regard to preparing the exams accurately and to the fullest.

The minister pointed out that the most important mechanisms of the general secondary exam controls for the academic year 2023 are the review of the answer form before the start of the exam by a committee consisting of 10 experts specialized in each subject who are nominated by the subject advisor and the correction is not done until after the approval of the experts, and he also stressed that All exam forms (A, B, C, D) are completely identical to the answer forms for each form.

The minister stressed the accuracy of the questions and the impossibility of more than one answer in multiple-choice questions, stressing the importance of reviewing the committee formed of experts specialized in the subject, to ensure the accuracy of the questions and the answer form.

Dr. Reda Hegazy confirmed that the correction of the essay questions will be done on the tablet in light of the Rubric performance evaluation measures for each question, with (2) correctors for each question, to ensure the accuracy of the estimate, and in the event that there is a difference of more than half a degree between the two correctors, a third corrector is used.

The minister also indicated that answer forms will be made available after completing all high school exams 2023, on the Ministry of Education website, in the interest of the ministry for the students’ interest and maintaining their focus and not dispersing them.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on distributing the concepts booklet to the examination committees before the start of the exams, and the need to warn students not to write on the concepts booklet and not to destroy it, and to hand it over to the observers after the end of the exam daily. The existence of cheating, and the application of Ministerial Resolution No. (34) of 2018 regarding regulating the conditions for exam cancellation and deprivation from it, and Law No. (205) of 2020 regarding combating acts of breaching exams.

This came in the presence of Manal Azqool, the advisor for the development of mathematics, Ghada Rashad Muhammad, the advisor for the development of philosophical subjects, Dr. Mahmoud Fouad, the advisor for the development of religious education, and Ashraf Abdel Moneim Sayed, the advisor for the development of social studies.
