The Applied Technology Schools Operation and Management Unit announced what has been accomplished during 2021, and the efforts it has made to increase the number of applied technology schools in the various governorates of the Republic; To allow the largest number of students to enroll in it.

In this context, Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Education and Technical Education, said that 12 applied technology schools were opened this year in partnership with major companies and ministries, such as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Petroleum, the Volkswagen Group, the Ghabbour Development Corporation, and the company. The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company, IEOC Production B.V., GIT Company, MCV Company, Dar Medhat El Sewedy for Printing, and El Sewedy Technical Academy, bringing the number of applied technology schools to 28 schools in 10 different governorates of the Republic, namely Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, and Qalyubia, Menoufia, Sharqia, Suez, Minya, Dakahlia, Port Said.

Mujahid continued, that this year, more than 40,000 students from all governorates of the Republic applied to enroll in applied technology schools, noting that the total of most applicants for the preparatory certificate exceeds 80%. Mujahid explained that electronic admission tests and personal interviews were conducted for all students who passed Electronic admission tests, on the basis of which students are selected to enroll in applied technology schools, and Mujahid concluded by explaining the advantages that students of applied technology schools obtain such as obtaining an Egyptian certificate conforming to international standards, practical training during the study period in industrial partner factories and companies, and appointment opportunities in industrial partner companies and factories. After graduation, in addition to financial rewards during the period of practical training, and the provision of school uniforms.

As the teacher is one of the main pillars of the applied technology schools, Dr. Amr Basileh, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education, and Director of the Operation and Management Unit of Applied Technology Schools, indicated that the door has been opened for teachers and administrators to apply to join the applied technology schools, and they were all subjected to personal interviews by A committee consisting of representatives from the Operation and Management Unit of Applied Technology Schools, and industrial partners.

Basileh added that training was provided by experts for principals, teachers and administrators, in addition to the development of 29 study programs, 12 courses, and the preparation of 24 study programs, in addition to opening the door for certified trainers to implement training programs for the operation and management unit of applied technology schools and opening the door to Apply to join the unit's work team.

Basileh also expressed his happiness at graduating the first batch of students of applied technology schools from Al Arabi School of Applied Technology, Imam Metwally Al Shaarawy for Applied Technology and Applied Technology of Mechatronics, and to provide many ways for these students upon their graduation from applied technology schools, such as the possibility of joining the labor market directly, or Technological universities or technical institutes without an equivalency procedure, in addition to the possibility for them to join Egyptian universities after making an equivalency.


Basileh stressed that the ministry's efforts and endeavors to open more applied technology schools in the current year 2022, and work to open 100 applied technology schools by 2030.
