The Minister of Education meets with development partners from the private sector and the German Agency for International Cooperation
Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with the development partners of the dual education and training system: the Investors Association represented by the National Center for Human Resources Development, the Federation of Egyptian Industries, the Businessmen Association, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the attendees, and extended his thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to this national work for the development of technical education, especially Egyptian dual education and training; In order to move forward to keep pace with the latest international systems of the countries that preceded us in this productive educational and training system.
The Minister stressed the continuous call for the participation of all parties to the system and the continuous consensus to implement what is new for the benefit of our students, raise the level of training to suit the needs of the Egyptian labor market, and even the international one, and to encourage human investment, with the Egyptian state’s unique, easy and scalable human element that contributes to an Egyptian renaissance coming from Skilled technicians produced by the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
The Minister of Education added that what concerns us in the current stage is rebuilding and changing the concept and culture of technical education and improving the mental image of the Egyptian society as a whole, which leads to reducing the unemployment rate that university graduates suffer from, pointing to the importance of the role of entrepreneurship in classifying the required disciplines in the fields of technical education to create Competitive job opportunities by building a job catalog that offers 250 specializations suitable for various technological jobs.
Dr. Tarek Shawky said that what has been achieved is a new economic renaissance spearheaded by the Egyptian Ministry of Education in partnership and cooperation with development partners to graduate a skilled technical student, stressing the importance of the dual education and training system in achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030 through creating strong and sustainable partnerships between the Ministry of Education Education and technical education on the one hand and the private sector on the other side; This is to give students the opportunity to acquire technical skills. We want innovative and talented learners, not just educated people; To achieve a better future for our students, and to achieve an economic boom awaited by our beloved Egypt.
During the meeting, Dr. Amr Basileh, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Applied Technology Schools Unit, reviewed the new governance system, the implementation mechanism and the roadmap, starting from the 2021/2022 school year.
For his part, Engineer Mohamed Al-Suwaidi, head of the Federation of Industries, praised the technology schools system, explaining that it is one of the most important projects accomplished by the private sector in partnership with the ministry and the realization of the hopes of many students in the applied study inside the factories and working in them after their graduation, as students are looking for opportunities to enter technical schools. technological.
For his part, Dr. Mohi Hafez, head of the National Center for Human Resources Development, praised this qualitative shift in the field of technical education, pointing out that 45,000 students are enrolled in technology schools, noting that the school bears a budget of 15,000 pounds for each student who enrolls in it to educate him on the latest international systems.
