The Minister of Education meets with officials of Technology Finland to discuss the development of technical education in Egypt

Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with a number of Finnish officials at Technology Finland, during the second day of his visit to Finland to discuss the exchange of Egyptian-Finnish experiences and areas of cooperation between the two countries in education, especially technical education.
The Minister listened to Finnish efforts to enhance various fields of work and industries, as well as the skills that the Finnish labor market needs from a skilled multinational workforce, and the opportunities available in this regard.
During the meeting, Dr. Tarek Shawky reviewed the new Egyptian experience in opening applied technology schools in Egypt, looking forward to the possibility of conducting cooperation with Finland in this framework, which includes training and employing students of those schools as well as students of industrial and commercial schools in the Finnish labor market.
Ms. Lina Buntenen, Director of the Skills and Standards Department at the Foundation, expressed that there is a great potential for cooperation with Egypt in this context, especially since many Finnish companies currently need many manpower, especially in the field of mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and other fields.
In this context, it was agreed to continue consultation between the two sides after the visit to find out the best ways to implement that cooperation as soon as possible, including inviting members of the Foundation and a number of companies that wish to provide job opportunities for new laborers in the Finnish market.
Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and the accompanying delegation participated in the lunch banquet hosted by Mr. Tomo Pomila, State Secretary of the Finnish Ministry of Education, during which consultations and discussions were held on opportunities for cooperation with the Finnish side that were launched with Finnish officials during the first and second days of the visit. His Excellency also participated in the dinner hosted by Ambassador Pekka Kosonen, Ambassador of Finland in Cairo, in which Ambassador Haitham Salah, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Helsinki, in addition to a number of representatives of major Finnish companies in the field of industry, including representatives of the Finnish company Kone. .
