Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met today with Mr. Laurent Patrinka, President of the International School Sports Federation, and Mr. Oliver Gerald, President of the French Federation for School Sports, to discuss arrangements for organizing Egypt for the World School Handball Championship, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and supervisor of the central administration for the affairs of the Minister's office, Dr. Eman Hassan, Vice President of the Egyptian Federation for School Sports and Head of the Central Administration for Student Activities, and Mr. Adel Ramzy, Head of Black Light Solution.

Dr. Tariq Shawky welcomed the attendees, stressing the political leadership’s interest in sports, especially in the pre-university education stages, noting the ministry’s keenness to cooperate with the International School Sports Federation, in order to achieve an impetus for school sports, as the ministry is working to make many contributions, through participation In many competitions and achieve many achievements.

The minister added that the sports activities for school students take place at the local and international levels, in the interest of the ministry to develop and build the capabilities of students and nurture the talented among them to prepare them for competition at the local and international levels.

He stressed the importance of young people seeing the world because this makes them more knowledgeable about the outside world and more communicating with the other, and this cannot be acquired and learned through books only, pointing out that children are taught in the kindergarten stage two important things, namely that the child knows who he is and what his family is, And the world that surrounds it, and thus we will have a new generation that is being prepared for the ability to communicate with the other, and sports will certainly have an important role in contributing to achieving this.

Mr. Laurent Paternca, President of the International Federation for School Sports, also expressed his happiness to visit Egypt because it is the first for him, stressing his happiness in cooperating with the Ministry of Education in Egypt and the existing interest in school sports, and interest in providing an appropriate environment for practicing sports in schools.

Dr. Iman Hassan stressed the aspiration for continuous cooperation through student exchange in various school activities through cooperation between the Ministry and the International Federation for School Sports, within the framework of concluding cooperation protocols with the French Federation for School Sports.

She added that many achievements and championships for school activities were achieved last year, stressing that in accordance with the vision of His Excellency the President and his permanent directives to pay attention to school sports, this was the motive for caring for school students and creating the appropriate environment for practicing various sports activities, developing their talents and involving them in Arab, African and international championships, through cooperation between The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Mr. Oliver Gerald stressed the great importance of integrating education with sports, as sports are fundamental to preparing children physically and physically, noting that sports greatly contribute to the exchange of cultures worldwide.

Adel Ramzy said that we have many projects and that investing in youth is a priority, expressing his pride in the development he noticed in Egypt at this stage.
