Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with a USAID delegation to discuss projects and programs that enhance teachers' capacities and skills in light of the "Teach for Tomorrow" program.

The minister expressed his appreciation for the fruitful and constructive cooperation with the US Agency for International Development in many educational projects at the pre-university stage, stressing the ministry's aspiration for more aspects of cooperation to serve the educational system in Egypt.

Dr. Reda Hegazy Ali confirmed that the ministry has launched several initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing teachers' capabilities and skills in light of digital transformation and employing them in sustainable professional development and teacher promotion, as well as activating the electronic training and professional development platform, which is directly reflected in the advancement of the educational level of students and the system. education in the country.

The minister referred to the interest of the political leadership in education and the initiatives that have been launched and are considered an important step to upgrade the education system, including the initiative of the President of the Republic to prepare young cadres to take over the leadership and management of schools, the first phase of which will start with 1,000 teachers; To become managers after obtaining a strategic management diploma.

The minister also stressed the role of the colleges of education in the development process, given their direct responsibility for preparing teachers, pointing out the importance of aligning their preparation programs with national reform efforts, the requirements of the current stage, and the new curricula. To apply best practices in this regard, and for teachers to have competencies that are commensurate with digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and industrial revolutions.

For his part, Project Manager for Education for Tomorrow, praised the quality of the educational system in Egypt, and the important role that teachers play in educating young people, expressing the agency's pride in the partnership with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in many areas, including training programs that aim to To achieve sustainable development for teachers, and to possess the tools that enable them to perform their tasks to the fullest, stressing the agency's readiness to provide all aspects of support for the development of education in Egypt.

The meeting discussed the "Teach for Tomorrow" program, which aims to develop the performance of primary school teachers, procedures for eligibility for promotion for teachers and a system for motivating and encouraging them to continue professional development. Occupation.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to form an executive committee to coordinate and cooperate, prepare the executive plan for the experimental implementation of the project, and coordinate with regard to professional development programs and certificates of fitness to practice the profession, in addition to monitoring and evaluation systems.
