"Education" participates in the activities of the third workshop on following up the roadmap to implement the vision of developing technical education 2.0)

The Ministry of Education and Technical Education participated in the activities of the third workshop on the follow-up to the roadmap for the implementation of the vision of developing technical education 2.0, which was held from 3 to 5 October 2021, to discuss the achievements of the past year, and to agree on the next steps and commitments for development partners regarding the further implementation of the reform Technical education.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, Dr. Mohamed Moussa Emara, Head of the Technical Education and Equipment Sector, Mr. Hashem Gamea, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education, Dr. Amr Basileh, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Operational Unit and Management of Applied Technology Schools, and Mr. Ahmed El-Ashmawy is a member The Advisory Committee for the Development of Technical Education and General Managers of Quality in the Technical Education Sector, in addition to representatives of development partners from German development cooperation - the German Development Agency GIZ, the German Development Bank KFW, the USAID Workforce Egypt project and the TVET Support and Reform Project -II.
At the beginning of the workshop, Dr. Muhammad Mujahid welcomed the participants, praising the efforts made in mutual coordination between them, and also gave a brief presentation on the most important achievements and successes achieved during the recent period.
The participants discussed the priorities of the vision of developing technical education and the five main pillars (developing the quality of technical education, developing curricula, providing qualified teachers and trainers, engaging the private sector in the technical education system, improving the mental image of technical education) that achieve the Ministry’s objectives to present a distinguished international model in Egyptian technical education. To achieve the requirements of sustainable development and comply with the requirements of Egypt's Vision 2030.
The main pillars of the Technical Education 2.0 vision were also discussed to follow up on the action plan and discuss the next steps for the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and development partners to ensure full coordination between their various activities and to identify areas and opportunities for future participation.
It is worth noting that one of the most important factors for the success of implementing the vision of technical education 2.0 is the concerted efforts and continuous coordination between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the concerned development partners, and keenness on permanent dialogue and follow-up on the implementation of the various pillars of the ministry’s vision.
Megahed stressed the need to cooperate and benefit from various international models in order to present an integrated Egyptian model to achieve the vision and requirements of the sustainable development goals, pointing to the importance of periodic follow-up to the implementation of the reform strategy on the part of the ministry and the completion of the current working groups for each pillar of the reform initiative, in addition to the formation of work teams Additional work on the agreed outputs during the workshop, as well as the importance of governance of the Technical Education Reform 2.0 strategy and follow-up on its developments.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Education and Technical Education is working hand in hand with various development partners to reform the current technical education context, to pave the way for better education for youth and to ensure their smooth transition to the labor market.
