Egyptian and Japanese Education Ministers Tour EduPort Pavilion at TICAD 9
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, accompanied by Ms. Abe Toshiko, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT), toured the EduPort initiative pavilion of the Japanese Ministry of Education on Wednesday as part of his participation in the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9).
Among the pavilion's highlights was a showcase of the success story of Egyptian-Japanese schools as a pioneering model for developing the educational process.
During his tour of the pavilion, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif gave his Japanese counterpart a detailed explanation of the progress witnessed by Egyptian-Japanese schools in terms of expanding the number of schools and increasing student numbers. He also explained the most prominent success stories achieved by the initiative since its launch.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif briefed the Japanese Minister on the introductory brochures prepared by the Ministry to showcase the stages of development of the initiative and its positive impact on students and parents.
The two ministers also visited the Casio Middle East pavilion, the strategic partner of the Egyptian Ministry of Education in implementing an integrated project to train middle school mathematics teachers on a guide to using calculator applications within the mathematics curriculum. This enhances teachers' skills and contributes to raising the quality of educational outcomes.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif expressed his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and Japan, noting that the Ministry attaches special importance to and is keen to benefit from Japan's pioneering experience in this field.
The Minister affirmed that the Ministry is making steady progress toward improving the level of education through effective partnerships with local and international institutions, achieving the Egyptian state's vision of building a generation capable of creativity and innovation, one that keeps pace with future demands.
