The Ministry of Education announces the results of the national competition for the top students (secondary)
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced the results of the national competition for the top students in the Republic’s schools for the (secondary) stage for the 2023/2024 academic year, which was organized by the General Union of Republic School Students. This is under the patronage of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and in coordination with the National Center for Educational Examinations and Evaluation, the Central Administration for Curriculum Development, the Central Administration for Directorate Affairs, and the Central Administration for Public Education.
This competition comes as part of the Ministry’s keenness to prepare a generation of academically distinguished and research students, discover multiple talents, refine their academic achievement, and stimulate the spirit of competition among them in a way that contributes to keeping pace with the times and facing the challenges of the future.
The final qualifying activities and the announcement of the results of the competition were attended by Dr. Ramadan Mohamed Ramadan, Assistant Minister for Examinations and Educational Evaluation, Dr. Hala Abdel Salam, Head of the Central Administration for Public Education, and Professor Khaled Abdel Hakam, Head of the Central Administration for Directorate Affairs and Director General of the General Administration for Secondary Education.
In his speech, Dr. Ramadan Muhammad Ramadan, Assistant Minister for Examinations and Educational Evaluation, expressed his happiness and pride in the winning students who proved themselves as top students, and thanked all the male and female teachers who were a source of inspiration for the students and contributed to guiding and supporting them, pointing out that excellence is not just reaching the top, but rather A continuous journey of growth and development.
The speech of Dr. Hala Abdel Salam, Head of the Central Administration for Public Education, came as an encouragement to the winners to continue working hard and diligently in studying, stressing that this competition will be the beginning of a bright educational journey. She greeted and thanked all the students’ parents and teachers for supporting and encouraging the students until they reach that stage. .
For his part, Mr. Khaled Abdel Hakam, Head of the Central Administration for Directorate Affairs, congratulated and greeted everyone, stressing that there is no loser in the competition, and that everyone won on the human level with good values and behavior in dealing with others, which is one of the most important goals of the competition.
Mr. Ahmed Moussa, the general leader of the Republic’s school students, also thanked Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, for his continued support and sponsorship of this competition and the students on a permanent basis.
The result of the competition was announced. The team from the Directorate of Education in Kafr El-Sheikh won first place, the team from the Directorate of Education in Beni Suef won second place, the team from the Directorate of Education in Cairo won third place, the team from the Directorate of Education in Dakahlia won fourth place, and the fifth place went to the team from the Directorate of Education. It is worth noting that the competition was implemented at the level of each educational department among the administration schools, and a team of the best members at the administration level was promoted to represent the administration at the directorate level. The directorates were also divided into five sectors, and the final elimination took place over two days. The first day was for academic subjects (Arabic language - mathematics - chemistry - history - psychology and sociology - student unions), and the second day was (English language - physics - biology - geology and sciences). Some basic criteria were taken into account when selecting male/female students in the competition, including: academic excellence in academic subjects, excellence in some innovative abilities, general culture, and participation in student activities, and that the questions should be for what was studied until 2/1/2024, according to the curriculum distribution plan.
