"Education" announces the training of 227,136 teachers to develop students' awareness of climate changes
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced that the training of 227,136 teachers nominated for promotion for the year 2023/2022 on the program to support teachers’ skills in developing student awareness of climate changes in light of the requirements of sustainable development has been completed, in addition to the completion of training of 36,901 school principals on the program Supporting the skills of school principals and agents in developing students' awareness of climate variables in light of the requirements of sustainable development.
For his part, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, thanked the training departments in the educational directorates and the professional academy for teachers and their branches in the governorates, trainers and everyone who participated in the training process for their efforts to accomplish this task.
The Minister explained that in the context of the concern for the public interest of the teachers, he issued his directives to the specialists in the Professional Academy for Teachers to quickly complete the registration and review of the requirements for obtaining the certificate of validity necessary for promotion to the positions of teachers in preparation for the issuance of the ministerial decision regarding this before the end of this year.
This came within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education’s interest in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and with the support of UNICEF in spreading the culture of issues related to climate change and preparing the cadres of trainers needed to implement these programmes. More than 1,500 certified trainers participated in the training, in about 1,200 training halls in The educational departments in the directorates are under the supervision of the Professional Academy for Teachers.
It is worth noting that Egypt is preparing to host the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2022, from 7-18 November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh.
