In his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy expressed his happiness to participate in this celebration, stressing that the implementation of the project to support the teaching of the French language in public schools (TREFLE) confirms the depth of the distinguished relations between Egypt and France, which gained more momentum under the directives of President Abdel Fattah. Dr. Reda Hegazy said: “Egypt pays special attention to strengthening cooperation with France in various fields, especially with regard to transferring French expertise and technology in all development fields to Egypt, noting that the project to support teaching French in public schools (TREFLE) is one of The fruits of strengthening cooperation between the two sides, through the support provided by the Embassy of France in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the French Development Agency to reach this day when we celebrate the success of this project, which I was honored to follow from the beginning.

The French ambassador referred to the bilateral partnership in favor of supporting French language education in Egypt, which comes within the framework of accompaniment to Axis 2.0 related to educational reforms, which is being implemented by the Egyptian Ministry of Education, stressing that according to these reforms, teaching French will be compulsory as a second language, starting from the first grade of middle school, and that For the French Embassy in Egypt, accompanying the development of French language education in Egypt and providing training programs in this regard is a priority for France.

At the end of his speech, the ambassador thanked Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education; For his constant support for the success of this project, stressing that this celebration is only a tribute to his unwavering support for the project. The ambassador also saluted the work accomplished by the project work teams at the administrative level and the level of mentors, coordinators and teachers in all Egyptian governorates due to their strong commitment to this project.

During the ceremony, Dr. Reda Hegazy handed over certificates of completion of training programs to directors of educational academies in 27 governorates for the benefit of 507 French language teachers and instructors who have benefited from the "Travel" project, and who will in turn train 13,000 other teachers and instructors in the French language through the next phase of the "Travel" project.

It is worth noting that these educational reforms will come into effect starting from the academic year 2024/2025 for the benefit of nearly 3 million students who benefit from educational programs for the French language in Egyptian public schools.

The minister explained that this project is a continuation of what was started in 2018 to expand the training of French language teachers, noting that the ministry always receives positive feedback from the teachers, and positive signals about the trainings provided by the project to develop their language level and improve their performance significantly. general.

The Minister continued: "Given the importance that the Ministry of Education and Technical Education attaches to the continued development of curricula, the Minister thanked all those in charge of the project for supporting the development of French language curricula, finalizing the new curriculum for the French language, and planning teaching activities. It was necessary that one of the goals of the project was to provide digital educational resources and develop an online platform for training French language teachers, which had a positive impact on the trainees.

The minister also expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of the French Development Agency to actively and continuously support Egypt in various fields, through the new strategy it has adopted since 2021, by standing side by side with its partners.
