The Minister of Education and Technical Education discusses ways of cooperation with the UNESCO delegation
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met, at the Ministry’s General Office, with a UNESCO delegation, which included Costanza Farina, Director General of UNESCO’s Regional Office for Education in the Arab Countries, and Fadi Yaraq, Senior Adviser for Education in the Arab Countries, to discuss joint bilateral cooperation between the Ministry and UNESCO.
The attendees discussed ways of cooperation between the Ministry and UNESCO in training teachers, especially since they are the mainstay for implementing the new educational system, which builds students' abilities and acquires various life skills to solve problems.
Dr. Reda Hegazy said that the Egyptian state has adopted the national project for the development of education, which aims to prepare a new vision for the educational community as a whole, to make the student more interested in learning and innovation, as well as efforts to develop education curricula, to match the increasing requirements of the labor market, whether at the local or international level. As well as enhancing and developing skills among young people and youth.
Hijazi reviewed the efforts made by the Ministry in developing education curricula since 2017, where the Curriculum Development Center has developed curricula for kindergarten, first grade, up to fourth grade, according to a vision based on the idea of sequencing and scientific accumulation, in line with international standards, in cooperation With experts and international partners, including the World Bank and the United Nations Children's Fund "UNICEF".
Costanza Farina, Director-General of the UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab States, expressed her welcome to cooperate with the Ministry of Education in developing the educational process, expressing her full readiness to provide support to the Ministry in all programs, as well as to help qualify and raise the efficiency of teachers through a series of digital training courses. that guarantees the continuity and quality of professional development, inviting the minister to attend a number of international events.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sherine Hamdi, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration of the Minister's Office, Dr. Hanim Ahmed, Advisor to the Minister for International Cooperation, and from UNESCO, Doaa Abu Naem, a project official in the UNESCO Regional Office.
