Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received today at the Ministry’s general office, Dr. Ghaith Fariz, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Science in the Arab Countries and Director of the Organization’s Office in Cairo, to discuss joint bilateral cooperation between the Ministry and UNESCO.

Dr. Tarek Shawky confirmed that the Egyptian state invested in the development of the educational process during the recent period, according to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to be an Egyptian society that learns, thinks and innovates, indicating that this message was the engine for the development of the educational process.

Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education, reviewed the ministry's efforts to reform the educational process, which aims to change the entire system to shift from education to learning, indicating that our goal is to develop Egyptian education and bring about a revolution that puts our students on the path of knowledge progress.

In his speech, the Minister of Education touched on the development in the technical education system, which includes the establishment of schools of applied technology, the establishment of the Egyptian Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for Technical and Technical Education (Itqan).

For his part, the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Science in the Arab Countries and the Director of the Organization's Office in Cairo, expressed his welcome to cooperate with the Ministry of Education in developing the educational process, expressing his full readiness to provide support to the Ministry through the Technically Enabled Schools project, as well as assistance in the rehabilitation and upgrading of teachers. .

The Director of the UNESCO Cairo Office also expressed the possibility of assisting in technical support in establishing the Egyptian Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for Technical and Technical Education (Itqan).

The meeting was attended by Dr. Reda Hegazy, Deputy Minister for Teachers Affairs, Professor Sherine Hamdy, Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office, and Dr. Amr Basilah, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Director of the Operation and Administration Unit of Applied Technology Schools.
