Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, visited a number of schools in Aswan Governorate today, where he followed up on the regularity of the educational process and the level of reading and writing among students at various educational levels. The visit also included following up on the comprehensive integration program for students with special needs, which is implemented by the ministry in cooperation with UNICEF.

The Minister was accompanied during his tour by Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, Ambassador Michele Quaroni, Ambassador of Italy to Egypt, and Ms. Natalia Rossi, Representative of UNICEF in Egypt, in addition to a number of ministry leaders.

The Minister began his tour by visiting Al-Sadat Primary School affiliated to the Aswan Education Administration, which includes 1,600 male and female students, where he witnessed a presentation given by the school students on the importance of water conservation. During the visit, the Minister was keen to inspect the first grades of the primary stage, review the students' notebooks, follow up on the students' level in reading and writing skills, evaluate their skills in reading and understanding lessons, and determine their educational level.

Within the framework of the comprehensive integration program for students with special needs implemented by the Ministry in cooperation with UNICEF, the Minister, the Governor, the Italian Ambassador, and the UNICEF representative inspected the resource room at the school, and learned about what is being provided to the students. The Minister praised the dedication shown by the teachers in teaching students and motivating them to learn.

Following that, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif and the accompanying attendees headed to inspect Aswan Girls Secondary School, which also includes an attached preparatory school, with 760 students. The Minister toured the classrooms and listened to a teacher's explanation during the English class for the first secondary grade. The Minister praised his style of explanation and discussed the lesson with the students.

The Minister also reviewed the students' performance in scientific and literary subjects, watched an explanation by the students on the smart screen, and held a dialogue with them about the subjects being explained, to find out the extent of their response and benefit from the lessons.

While inspecting the second preparatory grade classes, the Minister followed an explanation by one of the teachers on the smart screen, and was keen to follow up on the level of reading and writing and review the class and homework notebooks. He also discussed the students' ambitions, dreams, and academic achievement.

At the end of his tour, the Minister inspected the Performance Improvement Room, which specializes in training teachers to deal with people with various disabilities through a number of workshops implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Education and UNICEF.

In this context, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif confirmed that the Ministry has succeeded in achieving full discipline for the school year and regular attendance of students in schools, adding that parents who care about their children with special needs are making efforts to ensure their regular attendance at school, stressing that the Ministry is keen to improve educational opportunities for children with special needs, which helps them adapt to society by integrating them into schools and raising the quality of education provided to them.

In this context, the Minister explained that the comprehensive integration program "Integrating children with disabilities into public schools and life skills and education for citizenship programs", which is implemented in cooperation with UNICEF, is applied scientifically in schools, and has achieved noticeable positive results and effects, stressing the continuation of implementing the program to provide the best educational service for students with special needs.

For his part, Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, praised the efforts of Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif in achieving discipline in schools, noting that the governorate is making every effort to support and develop the educational process in the governorate's schools.

For her part, Natalia Rossi, UNICEF Representative in Egypt, praised what she witnessed during her visit to schools regarding the regularity of the educational process and the positive results of the comprehensive integration program, stressing the organization's keenness to provide all means of support to the Ministry of Education to advance the educational system in all aspects.

For his part, Ambassador Michele Quaroni, Ambassador of Italy to Egypt, valued what he witnessed during the visit in terms of the regularity of the educational process and its advancement and the regularity of students' attendance. He also praised the comprehensive integration program that is being implemented in schools to provide a distinguished educational service for students with special needs, noting that there is strategic cooperation in the field of education between Egypt and Italy, as well as a mutual keenness to enhance this cooperation in a number of areas related to the education sector.
