Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met at the Ministry's general office, the representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Egypt, Mrs. Frederica Meyer, and her accompanying delegation to discuss a number of joint cooperation issues.

The cooperation between the Ministry and the United Nations Population Fund aims to implement many joint activities, including enhancing the capacity of teachers in the field of population education, providing technical support to develop comprehensive frameworks for teachers and students, and enhancing the capacity of teachers, supervisors and students to organize family planning and population issues.

Dr. Reda Hegazy said that the government has a plan to deal with the population issue based on integrating the efforts of all parties working to manage that issue through the implementation of a strategic plan with integrated dimensions and axes for the development of the Egyptian family.

He explained that the main objective of that plan is to manage the population issue from a comprehensive perspective to improve the quality of life of citizens and ensure the sustainability of the development process, by working to control population growth on the one hand, and upgrading population characteristics on the other hand, so that the Egyptian manpower becomes an effective human force that receives education Good and enjoy a healthier and more quality life.

He pointed out that the Ministry organizes many events and activities aimed at educating students on various contemporary environmental, population and health issues at the local, regional and global levels.

For her part, Frederica Meyer, representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Egypt, said that the partnership of the United Nations Population Fund with the Ministry of Education is very important in light of working to empower and educate young people about population issues, especially after we heard today the results of the Egyptian family health survey, which indicates that Young people need more information about family planning.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Nawal Shalaby, Director of the Curriculum Development Center at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Sherine Hamdi, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and supervisor of the central administration for the affairs of the Minister's Office, Dr. Hanim Ahmed, Advisor to the Minister for International Cooperation, and from the United Nations Population Fund, Jermain Haddad, Assistant Representative of the Fund and Maha Mowafi, a family planning program specialist at the Fund.
