Dr. Reda Hegazy:
- The Egyptian state does not abandon its expatriate children
- The political leadership directed to overcome all obstacles facing the Egyptian students returning from Sudan
- Students of the Sudanese education system wishing to join the education system in Egypt must conduct an equivalency at the General Administration of Examinations

Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting today, via video conference technology, with the General Union of Egyptians Abroad, in addition to a number of Egyptian parents and students in the schools of the Egyptian Educational Mission in Sudan, to discuss the obstacles they face.

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister welcomed the attendees, expressing his happiness at this meeting. Which aims to reassure our students and parents in light of the current conditions in the brotherly state of Sudan, and to answer all their inquiries, indicating that the political leadership directed to overcome all obstacles in front of our Egyptian students returning from Sudan, and stressing that the Egyptian state never abandons its expatriate children.

In this context, Dr. Reda Hegazy reviewed the decisions he had recently taken to facilitate the procedures for Egyptian high school students in the Egyptian educational mission schools in Sudan and those returning from them to the homeland, as he decided to postpone the general secondary exams and technical diplomas in the Egyptian educational mission schools in Sudan until the situation stabilizes.

The Minister also instructed the General Administration of Examinations to receive Egyptian high school students returning from the Egyptian Educational Mission schools in Sudan to facilitate all procedures for relocating them in their previous schools according to their place of residence and to take exams at the end of the academic year 2022/2023. The Minister also agreed to allow those who wish to postpone taking exams. The end of the year for the second round with full actual grades.

The minister stated that students of the Sudanese education system who wish to join the education system in the Arab Republic of Egypt must conduct an equivalency at the General Administration of Examinations at the Ministry’s General Office.

The minister indicated that the ministry is constantly following developments in the conditions of Egyptian students who are currently in Sudanese territory, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, calling on students and parents not to worry about any procedures related to their children’s enrollment in exams upon their return to Egypt, noting that Registration has been opened for Egyptian high school students returning from Sudan to take exams, and they have been excluded, despite the expiry of the registration date.

At the end of the meeting, the minister expressed his sincere wishes for the safe return of the Egyptian students and their parents to the homeland.

Khaled Abdel Hakam, Vice President of General Secondary Examinations and Head of the Central Administration for Educational Dropout and Adult Education in the Ministry, Eng. Representative Mahmoud al-Qat, a member of the Senate and a member of the Coordination of Youth Parties and Politicians, and a number of Egyptian parents and students attending schools in Sudan.
