Today, Dr. Tariq Shawqi, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in the sessions of the (Virtual Education for Universities 195 International), which is one of the largest virtual conferences on higher, technical and vocational education in the world, in the presence of Dipu Moni, Minister of Education of Bangladesh, and Professor Alpha Tejan Wuri Minister of Technical and Higher Education of the Republic of Sierra Leone, and a number of officials, ambassadors and experts.
The conference, which will be held from December 5 to 9, will witness the participation of 195 universities and vocational institutes worldwide, to discuss a number of important issues in the field of higher, technical and vocational education, to come up with recommendations that contribute to the advancement of this vital educational sector, which contributes to providing the labor market. With highly qualified graduates who play a prominent role in the comprehensive development process of their countries.
Dr. Tarek Shawky reviewed Egypt’s experience in developing education, pointing out that the Egyptian state has adopted the national project for the development of education, which aims to prepare a new vision for the educational community as a whole, so that the student becomes more interested in learning and innovation, as well as efforts to develop education curricula to match the increasing demands of the labor market. Whether at the local or international level, as well as promoting and developing skills among young people.
In his speech, Shawky touched on the efforts made by the Ministry to develop educational curricula since 2017, where the Curriculum Development Center has developed curricula for kindergarten, first grade and up to grade four primary, according to a vision based on the idea of sequencing and scientific accumulation, and in a manner that is commensurate with With international standards, in cooperation with experts and international partners, especially the World Bank and the United Nations Children's Fund "UNICEF".
Dr. Tarek Shawky added that during the past three years, the Curriculum Development Center was able to benefit from international experiences and partnerships to localize more experiences in the center, and to enhance the capabilities of its cadres, who have become able to author, edit and develop curricula in all disciplines at the highest level and in accordance with international standards, adding in this In this regard, it can be said that Egypt has not only a national curricula center, but also a regional center for developing curricula in a way that also serves the needs of friendly countries.
The Minister of Education indicated that, in conjunction with the development of curricula, comprehensive rehabilitation and training programs for teachers are also being worked on to teach the new curricula.
On technical education, Dr. Tarek Shawky stressed that the future of technical education will be different, as the ministry is working to attract more students, by linking the entire technical education to the Egyptian, Arab and global labor market, and the development of new disciplines such as artificial intelligence, jewelry, programming and port work, to meet the needs of the Egyptian market. the job.
