Dr. Tariq Shawqi, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held several meetings during his visit to Finland to discuss the exchange of experiences and areas of cooperation between the two countries in education, especially technical education. During the meeting, Dr. Tarek Shawky reviewed the developments achieved by Egypt during the previous years within the framework of the education system reform program, in addition to reviewing the challenges that Egypt seeks to overcome. In addition to developing curricula and qualifying teachers.
The Minister of Education indicated that the Ministry is working on concerted efforts and continuous coordination with development partners; To reform technical education, and attract more students, by linking technical education to the global labor market, and creating new disciplines such as artificial intelligence, jewelry making, programming, and port work, in order to meet the needs of the labor market.
For their part, Finnish officials expressed, at the beginning of the meeting, their welcome to cooperate with Egypt, pointing out that they are closely following the developments in the education system in Egypt within the framework of the education system reform program, and that these reforms are similar in many of them to the procedures and educational systems in Finland, which It made the Finnish education system one of the best in the world.
In this regard, they reviewed the organizational structure of the education and vocational education system in Finland, in addition to ways to formulate educational policies and develop curricula, as well as ways to qualify teachers to adapt to developments in the education sector, which are mainly concerned with increasing the amount of knowledge, learning and communication skills of students, instead of Adhere to a specific system to be evaluated through tests.
